Unless EE is hurt then I do not agree with having him on the bench here.

Also not a fan of Kearns not batting cleanup, has more HRs then Rich and he spent a month in AAA.

I don't think it's going to hurt EE to sit every few games. Actually I think it might do him some good.

As for RA batting cleanup what can I say?

No problem, see the thread about him blaming himself for casey's injury to to erant throw.. speaks about this shoulder issues in the article. received some kind of shock therapy for it? dont quote me.. but its there. :)

Encarnacion said he hurt his right shoulder Saturday night - the day after the errant throw to Casey - on a slide across home plate. He took electro-stimulation and ice before Sunday's game, and hopes to be back in the lineup for Tuesday's game. The Reds are off today.

So... I had this discussion with my wife the other day on a hike about why a dog turd turns white after so long.

Being an enviromental studies major she informed me that the white is mineral residue!!

Now we all can sleep at night.

Batting Aurilia 4th shows Narrons love of a contact hitter in the middle of the lineup..... note contact as the description of what he likes, not on base percentage, not power, not batting average... but contact.

Let the George Grande/Cardinal love fest commence. George is probably very sad that Jim Edmonds isn't in the lineup though.

Again...I have to defend Aurilia as the clean-up hitter. He's put up the big numbers with RISP (.340/.387/.585). Personally, I'd rather have Kearns clean-up and RA 5th, but Aurilia is a perfectly reasonable choice to bat clean-up.

Now, since I defended him, he's a lock to go 0-for-4 and leave 10 men on base.

He's terrible anywhere else. If you have to play him, you might as well play him in the one spot where he'll be up in the situations that he's productive in.

I hate to say it, but if we bash Aurilia just because he's a contact hitter, then we're no better than the people like BF who bash Dunn just because he's a three true outcomes hitter.

Walking Dunn to prevent the tying run is against the percentages. Aurilia has a better chance of getting a hit. And Aurilia has the better chance of scoring 2 runs (with a HR or double) than Dunn has (HR only). And Aurilia has the only chance of scoring 3 runs (HR).

Has the delay always been this bad with the TV vs the radio broadcasts???

Bottom eight; Reyes still pitching.

LaRue strokes it into the crowd. Pujols runs up on top of the tarp but couldn't get it. Strikes out swinging. (1 out)
Pena 0 fer tonight. Grounds to short; flips to first for the out. (2 outs)
Cruz PH for Coffey. Works the count full. Fouls off a few. Strikes out swinging.

6-5 Reds.

Talking about the Portland Beavers... then he said something like "Oh, I'm sorry, you don't have a big league team..." ;)

And YOU do? ;)

Yes.

Boyd... what were his comments after reading it?

Top of 9. Weathers pitching

Olmedo at second; Freel to center for Pena.

John Rodriguez flies to the warning track in right on the second pitch. (1 out)
Walker PH for Eckstein. Single past first.
Mabry for Reyes. Flies to warning track in center; runner still at first. (2 outs)
Pujols grounds to short; flips to second for the third out.

AND THIS ONE BELONGS TO THE REDS!

he kinna railed on about how profane I was and how Pedro was a boob and folks in Portland must be proud of him. Seems Martin doesn't like to hear "Like It Is" when it comes to himself.

Rich "Roger Dorn" Aurilia's Home Road splits:
Home:
AB AVG OBP SLG OPS
192 .333 .378 .573 .951
Road:
194 .222 .293 .314 .607

So. He's the poster child for 2 phenomenons. BA driven OBP and the extreme example (Coors field'esque) of a player that's game perfectly matches his home ballpark.

He's Cal Ripken (in a good year) at home and Mark Belanger (in a bad year) on the road.

I say sign him for $1 mil for next year and ONLY play him at home.

At least you signed your name...

I sent it from my personal account which is firstnamelastname@eathlink.net so it's hardly like I was hiding. I signed it like I did b/c it's not about ME or getting MY NAME on the radio, it's about the fact that I'm a lifelong Reds fan and Marty is ruining the listening experience for many of us.

I may live in Portland, but I'm from Cincinnati and the Reds are my team. It's so typical of Marty to belittle my comments because they didn't come from someone in Cincinnati. Being that he's a megalomaniac with a provincial worldview I guess I shouldn't be surprised.

Not all of us in Portland hate Marty. But I wasn't listening tonight.

And Pedro is equal-opportunity about this... he hates Marty AND George AND Chris. Don't know about Steve.

Steve's pretty good, at least from a technical standpoint, and I think Chris would be bearable with someone more competent than George as his partner.

Listening to Marty is like going to see a band that used to be really great but isn't anymore. Maybe two or three of the songs really rock but most of it is just boring and useless, and it makes you sad.

When I heard Marty read two of the best emails ever I knew that they were sent by members of RedZone.

Marty always does well with the PBP in the first and 9th innings. My gripe is that he stinks at doing his job in the innings in between.

Marty was once one of the best PBP Announcers ever.

If he was anywhere as bad when he first started as he is now, he would never have made it into the HOF.

It's my opinion that if Marty did TV for FSO and George Grand did PBP on WLW radio Andy Furman, Segman, and Matt would spit the bit with Marty and fight each other to get a jaw full of George.

I get annoyed by Marty, but only as it pertains to baseball knowledge. All of the other complaints seem to be so much nitpicking. There is a lot of dead time in a baseball game, and a lot of folks like the small talk about personal matters. I suppose he could go the route that Grande and Welsh do and repeat the same info about the opponent throughout a series, or talk ad infinitum about what the Reds FO should be doing.

If nit picking involves missing 2 out every pitches thrown or not once mentioning the score in 3 innings then I'm guilty as charged.

It would be nice to hear the Reds radio team talk about the type of stuff a pitcher has not the type of stuff that a golf bag has.
