OAKLAND, Calif. -- The Oakland Athletics have agreed to minor-league contracts with left-hander Randy Keisler and catcher Raul Casanova.
The moves came during the holiday stretch when the team's offices were closed. Both players would make $375,000 if they are added to the 40-man roster.
Keisler, who turns 30 next month, was drafted by the New York Yankees in 1998 and spent parts of the 2000 and '01 seasons in pinstripes. He made two appearances for San Diego in 2003, then went 2-1 in 24 outings last season for Cincinnati.
The 33-year-old Casanova spent last year in the Chicago White Sox system, playing just six games in the big leagues.
