Looks like none of the Redszone members are going to be getting a job anytime soon.

Timo Perez, turning 31 this April, bats & throws Left handed. Mostly a corner outfielder, played 2 games in CF and 1B (but only 5'8"). Looks like he usually puts up an OPS of mid-to-high 600s. Not sure what he can do that Denorfia can't, but it is just a minor league contract.

Yes. Kullman his JimBo computer geek buddy. He'll land in DC.

Krivsky spent the first day in his position talking to Reds front office personnel. He said looking into the Adam Dunn affair is a priority.

Dunn and the Reds have an arbitration hearing scheduled next week in St. Petersburg, Fla., with Dunn asking for $8.95 million and the club offering $7.1 million.

Krivsky said the club would like to make a deal with Dunn before arbitration and indicated discussions about a multi-year contract could happen before arbitration.

You gotta be pleased with that!

From Rotoworld:

Fire Wayne Krivsky! Now we know why there were some rumors about the Twins being interested in Timo. Perez turns 31 in April and he's been a pretty brutal player outside of a surprising 2002 season. He's not worthy of a spot on Cincinnati's bench. No team can afford to carry both Timo and Tony Womack.

Geez... the guy has been on the job for less than a couple of days and he's already making mistakes.

Everyone knows you do firings on Fridays. Studies show it leads to less problems.

Can't wait for the two-prong attack of Timo and Womack.

The Bobs and Bill Lumbergh seem to agree with that theory as well...:D

To top it off, USA Today says Timo has a visiting visa but not a working visa so he can't even step on a field where someone pays to see him play. Says he might not be able to play in spring Training Games....looks like Wayne is getting off to a bang up start! I'm impressed..:mooner: :help:

does signing Timo mean that the Reds are planning on keeping Denorfia down in the minors to play everyday?

Timo is a roster filler. Got to have somebody to play in the away games.

DDN has it slightly wrong - I think you will find the POST has it right. Timo is only signed to a minor league contract. He may (and probably will) be given an invitation to ST when he gets a full visa.

The Timo signing I think may see Cruz lose his place on the roster or may see one of the OF be traded prior to or during ST.

If Timo ends up on the Major league roster this is a bad signing.

If he takes Womacks spot then it's good ;)
