Lee plates A-rod w/ a opposite field HR. Looked like he missed it, ball just kept going. 4-0

This like having your high school team show up in the WBC.

Ugh. Not pretty for SA

Is SA the home team? What did they do, win the toss and elect to defer to the second half?

Gainesville Red
03-10-2006, 03:22 PM
What is the mercy rule? 15 runs before 5 innings, 10 after?

Reds Fanatic
03-10-2006, 03:23 PM
15 runs after 5 innings or 10 runs after 7 innings.

savafan

15 runs after five innings, 10 after 7 I believe.

Heath,

I think each team has an opportunity to be the home team at some point (either in one or two games), and therefore has to be the away team at some point, too.

Mexico at USA
Canada at South Africa

Canada at USA
South Africa at Mexico

Mexico at Canada
USA at South Africa

My question is why are the US flag patches on the right sleeve backwards, with the blue field in the upper right corner?

I definitely hope this helps Junior start the season strong.

Also, is anyone listening to Bonds on the radio brodcast? So disgusting. They just keep going on-and-on about how great he is. It's hard to even tell their is a baseball game going on.

Heath,

My question is why are the US flag patches on the right sleeve backwards, with the blue field in the upper right corner?

Here is the explination from ESPN.com's uni watch:

Actually, the sleeve patch isn't backward. When the American flag is worn on the right side of a garment or vehicle, it's customary to position the blue field toward the front, so the flag looks like it's waving in the breeze as the person or vehicle moves forward. This applies to sleeve patches, helmet decals, Army uniforms, the space shuttle, Air Force One and so on.

My question is why are the US flag patches on the right sleeve backwards, with the blue field in the upper right corner?

It's appropriate to show the flag as if it were flowing from front to back, as you'd see it on the right side of a person or vehicle moving forward.

You are mistaken, Doc. Andruw Jones and Randall Simon, among others, play for the Netherlands. Curacao and Aruba are both Dutch territories in the Caribbean.

Only if a local station is picking up the feed. I'm lucky--WSFJ-51, the Christian TV station in Newark, is picking up the game as part of their programming for the whole family. (Though they black out the beer commercials for local spots.)

That's one of the problems with playing in March; I knew it would happen. College basketball rules in March.

It's too bad TNT (or FSN) couldn't carry some of the games when ESPN/ESPN2 couldn't. Heck! For something this special, put it on ESPN Classic... anything!!
