Lineup per Marc:

Ryan Freel CF
Tony Womack 2B
Felipe Lopez SS
Edwin Encarnacion 3B
Scott Hatteberg 1B
Austin Kearns RF
Javier Valentin C
Brian Buchanan LF
Quinton McCracken DH
Brandon Claussen P

Claussen vs. righty Jason Davis

Dunn's gone missing after a stellar performance yesterday... ah well.

Lopez hitting 3rd... interesting. That'll never happen if Dunn or Griff is in the lineup...

:bang:

Wise deserved it much more then McCrackien.neither one deserves it as they have both proven they won't hit in the majors. I think it as much as anything signals that Freel is going to be the first reserve in the OF and Womack will get the majority of starts at 2b.

Yes, you could tell the way Reds swung that they fully expected that Graves would throw the ball somewhere towards the plate. He did and they swung, fully expecting that Graves would pitch something, somewhere.

It's just like last year.

Just catching up on the game thread -- is the LaRue a pre-existing injury? Is there a possibility they traded for Ross because they knew there was a possibility that LaRue would be laid up for a while?

Or did this occur today?

Reds catcher LaRue to have knee surgery

3/26/2006, 2:52 p.m. ET
The Associated Press
SARASOTA, Fla. (AP) — Cincinnati Reds catcher Jason LaRue will have surgery Monday on torn cartilage in his right knee.

LaRue, who started 104 games last season, is expected to miss a couple of weeks. The knee has bothered him during spring training.

Javier Valentin is expected to do most of the catching while LaRue rehabilitates the knee. The Reds have two other catchers in camp: David Ross and Dane Sardinha. The Reds got Ross in a trade with San Diego on March 21.
