He occasionally misses bats, and has options left. Wouldn't be a bad pick-up to have at Louisville. He's still relatively young at 25, will be 26 at the end of this month.

Indians designated RHP Kazuhito Tadano for assignment.
Tadano wasn't even in the running for a bullpen spot with the Indians this spring, but he could be a useful 11th or 12th pitcher. Especially since he does have options remaining, he figures to get claimed, assuming that he's not traded before he goes on waivers.

Can you think of a better battery, Tadano pitching and Valentin catching. ;)

Get him since he has options left. This would help improve the Farm system.

The story he gave was that he did a couple of low budget "films" for extra money.

He was honest about the whole story with his teammates before any of that leaked out. Didn't sound like anyone on the Tribe had a problem with it either.

I say find out what the asking price is for him. Can't be too high, and could provide useful with the age of the Reds pen.

He will get claimed, so I would imagine a trade would need to be made for the Reds to get him.

Tadano would be a prudent pickup. He throws a variety of pitches well and is well suited for starting. He was advanced when he arrived here and has served as the indians 13th pitcher thus filling relief and starting roles but never starting on a consistent basis. He has had a few nice games as a SP in the bigs though.

I see Tallet (another DFA indian) made the Toronto team. Phillips was also DFA. Apparently he showed a much better attitude in ST but it was a little too little and too late for him. Still has the talent though.

When ranked last for the farm system any little bit of improvement helps. Krivisky will probably claim anyone who improves the organization at all.

Beane gets another young pitcher ready for the bigs and all in return for a toolsy OF in rookie ball. Worse than a Bowden trade (for Shapiro). BP wrote that Tadano was at least a solid middle relief pitcher as the 11th man (with options). Think the Reds could have sent an OF in low A.

...Do we have any OF in low A?

Do we even have a Low-A?

What I've seen in Dayton the last couple of years might not even been independent rookie ball.
