He deserves the boo's.

We'll just have to agree to disagree. But then I'm always against fans booing their own team regardless of whether the player happens to be one of our best overall.

So how is Dunn responsible for littering the bases all day long with OB-challenged Cubs?

When you allow a combined 18 baserunners via hit/walk in 6 innings--and you project the problems on two errors by Dunn, you're really, really missing the point.

Juan Pierre, still crying from the good heckling I gave him as a member of the Marlins last year from the bleachers, pops out to Edwin Encarnacion. Kid's bat hasn't been there today, but his defense has been pretty darn good.

People pay their money, they can boo. I'm more disappointed that the Dunn at 1st was never given a chance, he rarely play their in ST before the Pena trade. Dunn's future is at 1b and Denorfia needs to play. I know Hatteberg hit a HR but he is a poor offensive and defensive 1b and will be exposed over the course of a long season.

Chris Denorfia did more damage in one AB than the whole spring training. Now Narron's gonna make him pinch hit the rest of the year and play on Sunday Specials.

You see, Narron's not going to give a kid a job, he has to earn it.

That's exactly why we'll see Rich Aurilia back in the lineup on Wednesday.

At third.

ON EDIT- Since I obviously didn't make myself clear.....The above was written based on the history of words and actions of one Jerry Narron. That's it. None of the ideas above reflect the opinions of Me, Myself, and I Inc.

Derrek Lee at bat as Matt Belisle attempts to do the unthinkable and actually put up a scoreless inning of Reds relief pitching. Reports from the clubhouse indicate Aaron Harang is currently covered in a cold sweat and having flashbacks about the first inning.

Aramis Ramirez falls quickly behind Belisle 0-2. He lines a sharp shot right back at Belisle, who swats the ball down deftly. The ball bounces to Womack, who guns Ramirez out by a step.

Beslile saves a base hit by being in good defensive position. Reds dodge a bullet, but still bleading from the other dozen shells still lodged in their upper torso.

It's the bottom of the 7th, with Scott Eyre getting set for another go at things. At this rate, it's going to take a monumental effort, or a visit from the RedsZone 10 to get this thing turned around.

Scott Hatteberg steps in, wearing #21. I seem to remember someone much more huggable wearing that number in the past. Hatteberg flexes his OBP muscles and takes the 8th Reds walk of the day. Billy Beane smiles.

Bottom 7, 1 out, Dishes Juiced

Apparently Dusty Baker was just doing a giant head fake, as there is no pitching change. Rich Aurillia, angered that Tony Womack has replaced him in the hearts of RedsZoners, powers a ball to the outfield and hits another sacrafice fly. Kearns tags and scores. Valentin tags and goes to 3rd.

See, this is what little ball does for the Reds: a 12-7 deficit.

Bottom 7, 2 outs, 1st and 3rd.

Felipe Lopez with another RBI opportunity. Eyre, with his firmly planted on the scrappy Ryan Freel, throws over. WGN announcers state that Reds pitchers have already thrown a 170 pitches. I call that "mind boggling" -- Dusty Baker calls that "A good start." Felipe Lopez gets rung up looking on the outside corner, leaving 2 men stranded.

I know there's a lot of information flowing around here - but Womack was a D-back when they beat the Yankees in the World Series. I'm sure after Womack's career year in 2004 - George ponied up on that AND the point that Womack beat the Yankees in 2001 while a member of the Diamondbacks.

Its correct information, just presented with a little different spin.

Also - I've searched and searched - mlb.com doesn't show it. baseball-reference.com doesn't show it - So, I'm guessing its true. Tony Womack, career year and all, wasn't an All-Star participant in 2004.

i have always bragged about gameday audio, but they have lost a lot of that reputation with this performance today

Yep, this has been a sorry performance. What bugs me the most is that they debut this new interface/player on Opening Day. I don't get it. The "old" interface worked fine.

They'd better get this fixed, because if I keep having outages like this I'm asking for a refund.

Top 9, sacks juiced, 0 out

Derrek Lee hits a towering drive to Center Field. Griffey keeps drifting back, as the dozens and dozens of Reds fans at the stadium hold their breath. He catches it at the track, getting 1 run in. Runners advance.

13-7 cubs.

62 pages and counting. And it's 13-7.

And there are more people on the board than in GABP.

Nice.

There was a big arse article in the NY Times sports section about MLB web services yesterday, they host everything themselves and are pouring alot of cash in it. They always seem to have early season problems, probably because they can never replicate the amount of traffic they get, so therefore it makes success always a hair away from failure. They just rolled out a new interface on Gameday Audio Saturday, which after today's debacle, which was just piling on considering the Redlegs performance, they obviously did not get that up quite quick enough.

Top 9, 2nd and 3rd, 1 out

Aramis Ramirez draws the 16th walk of the afternoon as Rick White gives him an intentional pass to load the bases again.

Mild chuckling ensues.

I think Redszone should add a rule #6 at the bottom of the page:

"You don't get to complain about the offense when the Reds score 7 or more runs in a game."

...but there are still some Reds players striking out, FCB. The offense will always be a problem so long as it has players who whiff. That's so, so evident.

Atlee Hammaker was an All Star.

Just sayin...

gave up a grand slam to Fred Lynn in '83 in old Comiskey.

Also on the all-star-scratch-your-head-list - Brook Jacoby. But, hey I liked him as an Indian.
