Spring stats don't count? How about this comparison against the same Indians lineup (at least for the first half of the game):
Milton: 5 ip 3 hits 1 er 2 bb 9 k's
Buehrle: 4 ip 4 hits 3 er 1 bb 2 k's
Not saying I'd rather have Milton, but it does give me reason to hope for a good year out of him.

Spring stats don't countI removed the question mark. Until Milton shows he can string multiple quality starts together I would say skepticism is the preferred course of action.

I thought this was some thread on 1950's TV Variety shows.
I would have taken Uncle Miltie everytime. Except against Ed Sullivan.
Just out of curiosity, what were Milton's spring numbers in 2005?

No idea what his spring numbers were in '05. And I agree that 1 game's performance can't predict the whole season. But, like I said, reason to be hopeful. If he strings together a couple typical '05 starts, then my hopes will be dashed. Until then, I prefer to be optimistic.
