CINCINNATI -- When the Reds and Cubs meet again on Tuesday at Wrigley Field, injured catcher Jason LaRue plans on being in the lineup.

LaRue, who is on the 15-day disabled list retroactive to March 26, felt he was rehabilitating well from arthroscopic right knee surgery that repaired torn meniscus cartilage.

"There should be no doubt that I'll be ready," LaRue said Wednesday morning. "Everything is coming along fine."

I think it might have been advisable to have EdE bunt after Dunn doubled. That would have put a man on third and it might have robbed Williamson of his stuff that winds up down in the dirt for fear of a passed ball.

I think we forget how stupid Scott Williamson can make a hitter look.

I think it might have been advisable to have EdE bunt after Dunn doubled. That would have put a man on third and it might have robbed Williamson of his stuff that winds up down in the dirt for fear of a passed ball.Narron reads the game threads and feared the ridicule of the 10

04-05-2006, 03:02 PM
It wasn't a great bunt by Freel -- you want the 1st baseman to have to field, but you really don't want the ball to get to him that quickly.

Still, with Williamson paying no attention to the runner, Hatteberg should've been able to make 2nd.

Why does Narron feel a need to play guys like Womack and Hatteberg simply to "keep them happy"?

If nothing else, this game is a perfect example of why Freel should be in the lineup every day. He simply brings an element to the lineup the Reds don't otherwise have.

EDIT: Freel scores on the groundout. Exactly what I'm talking about. GREAT baserunning, Freel!
