View Full Version : I really can't wait to find out what we are trading for...

They just said on WLW that the Reds might be trading:

Kearns, a 2nd Baseman, and 2 relief pitchers

for:

a Starter, and 2 relievers...

Is this a clue on who we might be dealing with?

Is this supposed to be all in the same trade? I don't see how that would even be possible

Me neither, really. But they seemed pretty confident on WLW about it.

Well, they said that it would be in 5 to 6 days. I would guess Kearns, Aurilia, Wagner and a minor league reliever. Who to, who knows. Anyone have any ideas?

Wasn't it Billy Cunningham that said it? He claimed to have inside information with Bob Castellini

What team would want two of our relievers for two of theirs? Not now, not 5 days from now.

Did anybody else hear this?

My guess is it is Kearns, Claussen, Womack?

If it was 2 relievers of ours it would not be Claussen.

If Keanrs is pulled sometime during the game we know something went down.

Oh oops.

My guess is Kearns, White, Freel, and ???

If we are getting a good starter and 2 solid relievers it would have to be Kearns and Freel.

It was one of the two guys that are on the radio right now on WLW. I have been tuned in online now for about 45 minutes.

We have two of them in AAA that could interest some people, I hope we don't trade them though.

And IMO, White would draw some interests from some teams.

Ah, I'm sorry then. I'm kind of a new listener to WLW. Since it doesn't come in here unless I listen online, and I bought the MLB Radio package this season, I have been listening to WLW a lot more that I ever have.

Cunningham once proclaimed that Sean Casey was going to be traded to Pittsburgh for Kris Benson before game time in 2003.

With the Brandon Phillips trade, all signs pointed to something being in the works for several days now. Wouldn't most teams who had a deal like this in the works have had it consummated during their off day--prior to departing on a roadie? Ugh. Never mind.

I'm scared that it's going to be a trade with MN and the starter we're getting back is Kyle Lohse....

I'd just like to be surprised and see Krivsky bring in a familiar name. All I ever ask for is someone fans can identify with...

That's why I liked bringing in Womack, Hatteberg, and Arroyo...

I've been thinking that LaRue may be involved in a trade since nothing has happened the last few days. No one really wants to do a trade while the one you are trading for is on the DL. I really think something was about to happen just before LaRue's injury and it had to get shelved until he got back.

Haha, well, a lot of casual people who will come out to games for familiar names have been excited by the news of Womack and Arroyo, moreso than anyone else.

I don't mean I personally think they are great moves, but I do think it is an attempt to put fans in the seats.

I'll jump in and concur with many others. Cunningham is full of bluster and oftentimes to the detriment of the city. When a commercial with him on it comes on during the game, I turn down the radio. I can't imagine why any business would want him as their spokesman. Ugh.

Maybe:

CIN gets: Kyle Lohse, Scott Baker and Jesse Crain

MIN gets: Austin Kearns, Rich Aurilia, Kent Mercker and Ryan Wagner

If there is any truth to this, you would think it would involve either the Twins or Dodgers.

Dodgers might be willing to trade Odalis Perez in order to promote Chad Billingsley.

I can't help but think the Braves make too much sense here. They have always liked Kearns, there's been alot of talk about how bad they need arms in the pen and although they have Giles they need a guy who can play a few spots and fill in @ 2B and leadoff if Giles were to go down, who incidentally is ailing with a strained right groin but playing through it the best he can.

Chipper is on the DL and they don't have a backup for Andruw Jones were he to go out of a game. Kearns could play a little CF in a pinch, and we all know Freel can give you some quality time @ 3B, 2B and CF. The only lefty they have on the whole team is Remlinger, who isn't on the DL. See Hampton, Horacio Ramirez, Macay Mcbride and John Foster all lefties all on the DL.

So who is it. Let me see. Kearns, Freel and Hammond/Mercker/Williams for who? I would say it's gonna be 3 or 4 prospects. Frankly I could see The same above deal w/o Kearns and with a McKracken, Terrence Long or Alex Sanchez in his place.
