I'm not the one asking people what the chances are of the Reds changing jersey's in 9 seperate posts in the other thread, and then starting a new thread to petition the Red's not changing them when no one knows for sure that they are even going to change them. It was just a blurb in an article. No one knows if there is any truth to it or not. Also, there is no need to bump a thread on RZ. If someone wants to respond to your post, they will. If not, they won't. Be patient.

What we've got is a report from a third party in an ESPN article, who wants to remain anonymous that the Reds' ownership really wanted to change jersey's this year, but couldn't because they were afraid it would hurt merchandise sales on merchandise already setup to sell this season.

Do I personally think they'll change? No idea, but I could definately see them wanting to change. R Cast talks about how important the past of this organization is, so I could definately see them going to a look that pays tribute to past teams. And with new ownership coming in I could see them wanting to make a change just to make a change and try to make fans and players forget about the past 5 years or so.

So I guess, yeah, I could see it happening, and I could see that original article having merit, although, like I said, it is a report of a third party anonymous source on ESPN saying that things will change. We won't know for sure until something official is released, and that probably won't be until next November or December, at the earliest.

But when you go to new uniforms, people want to keep up with the times and get the new gear. That results in much more revenue. Yeah, they probably do fine now, but the revenue would jump big-time with new uniforms.
