Not a bad lineup. I'd rather see EE higher, but maybe 7th will take some pressure off. No compliants, though.

Yeah, Hatteberg and Valentin don't give the pitcher much reason to give Kearns anything to hit.

And it's about damn time.

Dreams of a lineup anchored by Dunn and Kearns back-to-back from 2002 are finally realized all these years later.

Move Encarnacion up to the #6 hole and replace Hatteberg with Aurillia, and you've finally got a lineup and batting order that doesn't make my skin crawl.

I don't think Kearns is laughable in the 4 spot but EE is the longterm answer

Wouldn't it be nice if this lineup could be run out there daily?

1. Freel LF
2. Lopez SS
3. Griffey CF
4. Dunn 1B
5. Kearns RF
6. EE 3B
7. LaRue/Valentin/Ross
8. Aurilia/Phillips/Womack
9. Pitcher

I know Dunn doesn't like 1st, but I think he'll hurt you less at 1B then in LF and it allows Freel to stay in the lineup when Griffey comes back.

They just either put JR on DL or for once in their entire lives be frank with the fans about what is really going on. I'm so incredibly sick of this little dance the Reds go through every single time this happens - which has apparently survived a change in regime.

I've had enough.

strike outs are good.

Reds led the league in runs and K's last year.
Braves lead the league in runs and K's this year.

Therefore more k's=more runs.

I would like to see what the red undershirts look like with the road gray uniforms.

They did it that way once upon a time. But for one road series in 1999, they wore it with the black and started winning. They've been in black shirts ever since. Or something like that. I do remember they switched to the black as a superstition.

I wish they would go back.

Chris says that the Cat in the Hatte will give you a tough at-bat. I don't disagree with that, but the more I see of him, the more I think that he would be more serviceable as a left-handed pinch-hitter and part-time 1B. (In other words, Harry Spilman redux.)

I think this team is much better with the Nature Boy Rich Aurilia at 1B.

Attempting to bunt for a base hit then having the 1B field the bunt barehanded and then tosses to the pitcher who's covering first and who has to dive to tag the runner who's trying to slide head-first into First Base.

That's scraptastic x infinity!!
