Lizard is prototypical AAAA -- Stuff that can make minor leaguers look silly, but lack of a fastball with good velocity or movement and an inability to put hitters away with a given pitch or get hitters to chase pitches.

When he was up in the bigs last year, he spent too much time in the zone and get pounded. I know he's young, but I really see no future for Lizard with the Reds in any role other than a mopup guy. I'd love him to prove me wrong, but I just didn't see it when he was up last year.

I am not sure on the Lizard. He sorta reminds me of Harang a little. He was only 22 last year and not even ready for AAA let alone major leagues. When his body fills out, he should solidly be a low 90's thrower with decent enough stuff(Harang doesn't blow anybody away with his) with good makeup to be a serviceable major league starter. He is no ace, but not many are.

Well he does throw strikes. He and Germano both have MLB futures IMO. I don't think he needs oomph as much as he needs movement, and the maturity to know when and how to go outside the zone. His rep (and Germano's) is pinpoint control. If that control is coupled with keeping the ball down, the Reds may have something.

But I wouldn't even give him a sniff again until Sept.
