Yup, yup, yup. This would appear to have been a good day to get Dunn a rest, against a lefty that he is 2 for 18 lifetime against...

Leave Freel in today and sit Dunn. That would have made a bit more sense to me.

Freel needs to sit once in ahwile. With the way he plays he needs more off days then done.

I would have bat BP leadoff today, or even Felipe 1st with EE second, but oh well.

He's certainly collecting pine on both my fantasy teams today. I'm seeing a solid 0-3 with 1 BB from him today. He sounds like he could use a day to relax and collect his thoughts, but I guess getting shutout makes a manager want to keep his basher in the lineup the next day.

Ryan Freel out of the lineup seems about right -- he was due for a day-off as well.

Narron is killing me. When someone is hitting well, he sits them(Encarnacion a few days ago, Freel earlier in the year). Dunn has had no clue at the plate lately, and Narron keeps him in there against tough lefties like Dontrelle and Davis.

That's how we run my league. I sat Adam Dunn today, and replaced him Adam West. I'm figuring the utility belt has to be worth at least three additional stolen bases.

I had a friend that didn't get sports who used to puzzle over fantasy baseball. He said that there was a group of people who were all really into Amtrak trains and played a game where each person picked a group of trains and was awarded points based on how close the train came in to it's scheduled time, how clean the train was, and who it's driver was that everyone would think those people were certifiably insane. Why, he asked, should it be any different for fantasy baseball entusiasts?

This has all the makings of an unmitigated disaster for the Reds bullpen today and tomorrow.

Harang going on short rest today, Elizardo Ramirez tomorrow.

The offense needs to pound out 7 runs or so in the first few innings and let Harang put it on cruise control.

Sadly, I find out that I am still blacked out for the Reds here in Memphis for MLBTV purposes since the Milwaukee feed is being offered.

You can't purposely drop a ball (after catching it) to get a DP. You can purposely let the ball hit the gound and get a DP. But if you make contact (such a using your hand, glove or body to knock it down) the ump won't rule the DP.

Yup. I'd have been happy he got a hit, but I think that you play right into a pitcher's hands when you help him when he's being wild. Davis had given up FOUR walks consecutively -- Granted, Austin battled for his walk, but he got the free pass.

I see your point, and it sometimes works. But so does swinging at the cripple by a pitcher desparately looking for a strike.

To me the difference is you have a very good control pitcher walking guys but very much around the plate. It's not a wild rookie prone to streaks of wildness. Davis was barely missing alot of the time.
