I know this happened yesterday, but I haven't been able to get to my computer until now.

Yesterday Albert Pujols hit a game winning homer in the bottom of the 8th inning against the Nationals.

Now my question is this, why would you pitch to this guy ever with the game on the line? He has been the hottest hitter in baseball since the beginning of the year, and he has gotten every clutch hit in every clutch situation he has been in.

I know Pujols got walked four times today, but they should've been walking him since day one. Everyone should pitch to him like they pitch to Barry Bonds, except the fact that he is better than Bonds and more dangerous.

Pujols has a lot better protection then Bonds with Eckstein in front of him and Edmonds and Rolen behind him, but Rolen hasn't been playing for a while, Edmonds is in a slump, and Pujols is just too dangerous. What's even worse is that he lead off the inning so no one was on base!

I don't get it......why?

He makes an out 65% of the time he puts the ball in play. It's a good gamble once in a while if you think the matchup is in your favor.
