Deno should be hitting leadoff. The guy can get on base.

Not a bad lineup but I would maybe start Javy at catcher over Larue today. It's hard to tell when we might get a chance to get both he and Mr. Hat in the line-up again vs. a righty.

edabbs44
05-04-2006, 08:02 PM
Caring less about splitting up righties, Hatte has no business batting 5th. Breaking up righties is nothing like breaking up lefties. I think Narron needs a tutorial...

I like Kearns 4th, Edwin 5th, and Hatteberg 6th. But otherwise, it's OK. :)

Matt Holliday steps into the batters box. Last night he submitted his resume for "Reds Killer" status, attempting to join the decidedly non-exclusive club of individuals that murder Reds pitching. Matt Murton would be happy about that -- he hates being hazed as the "new guy"

Holliday celebrates by hitting a ground ball to Brandon Phillips, who makes an off balance throw that takes Lopez off the bag for the E-4.

Edwin Encarnacion leads off the 2nd -- amazing the way ol' hair care has gotten off his back recently. Maybe money changed hands. Easy E works the count back to 3-2 after getting in an 0-2.

Scott Hatteberg is up, probably expecting to see a lot of PT with Aurillia out with a strained groin (our deepest sympathies to Mrs. Aurillia). Hatteberg does what he does best: stands there with a disinterested look on his face taking pitches.

Hatty draws the Luke Hudson 4 Pitch and trots on down to first.

Austin Kearns into the batters box. He's been looking uncomfortable in Colorado, but that's probably because Ray King has been glaring at him from out in the bullpen. Austin keeps touching his shoulder like he's having some kind of 'nam flashback.

Kearns works the count full -- this is the Reds offense I like to see: take more pitches -- Kearns with the RBI base hit to left field, the Reds lead 1-0.

Hattey to 3rd.

Josh Fogg, he of the .000 batting average, steps in to try and keep the inning alive. Harang gets ahead in the count before getting the pitcher to K.

Barry Windham is largely considered one of the best workers of his time by many true wrestling experts. He was a fan favorite for most of the early and middle periods of his career, having great success in singles and tag action. He held tag team championships with Mike Rotundo in both the WWF and NWA. After leaving the WWF in 1985, he was outspoken in his criticism of the WWF's "Rock and Wrestling" style, which deemphasized traditional wrestling. He had memorable matches with "Nature Boy" Ric Flair, which were arguably some of the best matches of all time. He was part of Flair's group The Four Horsemen on two different occasions (1988 & 1990 to 1991). His biggest feuds were against Flair, Lex Luger, Sting and Dusty Rhodes.

Between his runs as a Horseman, Windham returned to the WWF in 1989 as the Widowmaker, which some consider a precursor to the Undertaker persona, but due to outside legal problems involving Barry's father and brother, the character did not last long. He left the company to return to WCW a few months later.

Much of Barry's early career was in the Florida region of the NWA where Gordon Solie was the head announcer.

During one of Barry's WCW runs, he feuded with "Stunning" Steve Austin over the Television title, which resulted in Windham winning the title. He also feuded with Austin's fellow Dangerous Alliance members Arn Anderson and Larry Zbyszko who "broke" his hand by slamming it in a car door. He formed a very successful tag team with Dustin Rhodes around this time, as well. When Ric Flair returned to WCW in 1993, Flair and Arn Anderson tried to recruit Barry for another Horsemen run, but Barry became "The Lone Wolf" and won the NWA World Title, feuding with Flair and Arn.

Windham would again return to the WWF in 1996, this time as The Stalker, wearing camouflage face paint. For a short time, he renewed his feud with Dustin (he had turned on him in 1992 in WCW), now known as Goldust, only this time, Windham was the face and Rhodes was the heel.

He later formed The New Blackjacks with Justin Hawk Bradshaw in 1997. That team didn't last long, as Barry turned on Bradshaw to join Jim Cornette's "NWA faction" in 1998 (at the time, the NWA had become just a group of smaller independent promotions, and they cooperated with the WWF for this storyline). The angle was scrapped months later, and Windham left for WCW again.

In his last WCW run, Barry was part of The West Texas Rednecks. They were supposed to be a heel group to feud with rapper Master P's "No Limit Soldiers" but the southern fans of WCW cheered the Rednecks, going against what WCW management and booking had hoped for, and the angle was eventually dropped. The group consisted of his brother Kendall Windham, Curt Hennig and Bobby Duncum, Jr.; Duncum was replaced by Vincent (Mike Jones) shortly before the group was disbanded and the Rednecks storyline was dropped. Windham was originally brought back to WCW by Eric Bischoff who had him turn on Ric Flair. He was loosely associated with Bischoff's nWo Hollywood for awhile before forming a tag team with Hennig.

By 2001, a group of internet wrestling fans known as "The Barry Windham Revolution" claimed to have encouraged Windham to make a physical comeback. While other competitors might have simply retired, Barry had worked very hard and gotten back down to 236 lb (107 kg) as he had been for much of his early career.

During this time, on the American independent scene in Dusty Rhodes' now defunct Florida-based TCW, Barry won their heavyweight championship and held it for the better part of a year. He also became part of the Xtreme Horsemen in stable with Steve Corino and C.W. Anderson. They feuded with Dusty & Dustin Rhodes.

Barry's last appearances were at MLW's War Games and a one time U.S. Express Reunion with Mike Rotundo at WrestleReunion I.

Barry now resides in Florida and competes infrequently.

Same classification... antisocial personality disorder. Did you know ASPD is the one of the few psychological disorders that can't get you the insanity/incompetent to stand trial defense? Thats because over 70-80 percent of the people in prison would get diagnosis for ASPD.

Pretty much every single serial killer has ASPD. The hallmark signs to look for in serial killers when they are young? Abuse to animals and bed wetting (i'm forgetting the 3rd.... damn)

Fun times.

The third is starting fires.

And DDP didn't start wrestling until he was about 35 ... really late in his career ... he was a bar bouncer. Kimberly and DDP are seperated last I heard though ... she is extremely hot, an actress kind of now too also, and she is really smart too and has a college degree I believe.

Danny Ardoin up in a RISP situation, looking to bring this game a little closer. I can't say how much his vaguely French sounding name bothers me -- it's a personal hangup, and I won't let it get in the way of my PBP wor...

...he strikes out Swinging!! Ha, take that you surrender-loving champagne lover!

4-1 Reds after 4 :beerme:

well done. I had a serious brain fart right there. I love the bedwetting part, btw. Poor impulse control. Next time your kids wets the sheets, watch out.

Bet wrestling pays better than an entry management position.

The Harangatang up to lead the inning off. I might have to stop making jokes about him if he gets another hit here.

He strikes out swinging. Too bad Aaron, you had your chance. Now endure further taunting.

Thanks for the enlightenment Dunner. My rep of 4 must have been a direct result of bashing the Dixie Chicks.

I am who I am.
Actually, I think it was for using profanity and political topics. That's off limits here. That's cool. You're new. We won't kill you yet.:D I'm slowly trying to work my way up to the big show.
BTW, I hate country music, but I kind of like the Dixie Chicks. I'm a rebel.

Felipe Lopez continues his slump by flying routinely out to Corey Sullivan. I thought Felipe sucked from the right side?

Political topics, yes. But no profanity. I used an asterisk for the "i" of the synonym for the female dog.

5-1 ground outs to FO for Aaron so far. Last time up was so out of character for him... .6 go to 9 fo. But he still got the W, and a quality start, so no complaint. DW even managed to do well in that category vs the cards. His 11-5 go/fo made me almost crap my pants when i saw it, even if he was pitching againts the Cards AAA team.

Brandon Phillips up looking to continue an 0-2 night. Maybe he's figuring that since Tony Womack is gone, someone has to pick up the slack in the "sucking" department. Either that or maybe Tony left a curse on his locker, Pedro Cerrano style.

Phillips flies out routinely.

Reds giving Josh Fogg the first good feelings he's had since he got a gold star in finger painting back at age 5.
