I will bet $1,000-to-1 that putting the ball in play would dramatically change those numbers. I'm sick of all the bat burping.

I think the Reds just aren't seeing the number of pitched since Aurilia's been gone but you seem to disagree with me on that. I assume that's why you started this thread.

It means something. It means these guys aren't getting any hits. Hits are important.

I don't mean to say BA is everything, but these guys just are not hitting.

I always remember the quote Wally Joyner made when he came up and was a star in the beginning. He was quoted as saying if its in his zone he swing. Simple as that. As for the Reds slump hitting wise it is a combination of impatience at the plate and lack of walks and fielding has been atrocious.

Make no mistake about it. If Narron dosen't hit the panic button this line up will score runs. Plenty of runs.

What we have here is a lack of understanding.
Too many of us wring our hands and worry ourselves to death over small sample size.

A few days ago the Reds were 10 games over .500.
Many of us had our sights set on post season play.

Then low and behold the club has a bad stretch of games.
We search for reasons for the losses.

Ahh there it is! We've found it!!!

It must be Team Batting Average with RISP.

This morning's Enquirer quoted Jerry Narron, saying they haven't had outdoor BP in a week because of the rain. He said they've been taking the field 30 minutes before game time, play the game and then it starts raining five minutes after the game ends. And it doesn't look good going all the way to Friday.
