CIN: B. Claussen (2-4, 4.96)

Freel should start--he was just getting his engine revved again.

Aurilia should never, ever be third in the order. He's an ideal 8th spot hitter.

GridironGrace
05-19-2006, 06:17 PM
My only Problem with Dunn is he tries to pull the ball too much.

Lopez on 1B unable to steal 2B and chances of Dunn GIDP go up when batting #2.

He sucks with runners on cause he tries to pull the ball to much.

EDIT:

Let me add what i DO like about it.

Jr is behind him and therefore he SHOULD see more to hit... Not to mention if Lopez IS ON BASE and Dunn DOES get a hit, we are gonna have runners on the corners with 0 outs and the middle of our lineup coming :)

Id rather see JR hitting in the 2 hole but his speed wont allow for that.. and besides he is our BEST and most FEARED Hitter so #3 is where he SHOULD be.

PuffyPig
05-19-2006, 06:29 PM
Dunn is a very small GIDP risk because he doesn't hit many ground balls, and when he does it's to the secondbaseman, which makes it harder to turn.

I wouldn't worry too much about the lineup. This is AL ball (not to be confused with baseball). There are usually lots of RISP chances up and down the lineup.
Provided, of course, we can actually get some runners ON against Bonderman (a pretty good pitcher, I've heard).

A potential positive about Dunn hitting second is that when FeLo is on, the right side of the infield is more open with the 1B holding on Lopez.

Until recently, Dunn rarely grounded out. He is much more likely to pop up.
(Of course, now that he "expanded" his strike zone...)

Are you two taking "the shift" into consideration? The 2nd baseman will be a "rover" in short RF and the SS will be playing near the 2nd base bag. Not impossible to turn a DP, but it's certainly an unconventional pivot

Dunn is not one of the best outfielders in the game. Not even close. He's not even one of the best hitters in the game. What he is, is one of the best sluggers in the game, who *can* get on base with the walk (not sure how much long that will be the case with his tendancies of late).

Adam Dunn is one of the best hitters in the game. Looks at the stats, ask any knowledgable baseball fan and they will tell you the same.

Dunn is a good hitter with RISP. Check his career OPS wiht RISP - .890.

Its almost like Claussen gets a Lead, he's walked through the lineup once and he just RELAX's

Owned the Tigers through thier lineup once then has now gave up 3 Runs in the 4th.

If you can get him through the 2nd time through someone's lineup without giving up any runs this kids gonna be AMAZING.

He own's you for the first 9 batters... then when ur lineup flops he gets the big head or something or has NOTHING diffent to show you and gets rocked.

Beat the Tribe 2-1 on May 20th. Aaron Harang got the win with 7.1IP, 4H, 1ER, 9K. Adam Dunn & Felipe Lopez hit HRs off of Kevin Millwood to account for the scoring. Joe Randa went 3-for-3.

And the rest of the story...
On the same day D'Angelo Jimenez was DFA'd! Luis Lopez was called up from AAA to take his spot. Danny Graves gets his last save as a REDS player in the game. Two days later he gets DFA'd!
