Nope.

Strange lineup tonight, that's for sure.

Phillips 2B
C. Ross LF
Griffey CF
Aurilia SS
Kearns RF
Hatteberg 1B
Encarnacion 3B

Well one thing is for sure the Reds will not be at a loss for pinch hitters tonight.

Oh, and Aurilia should never, ever play shortstop.

Sunday Special on a Wednesday.

Oh, and Aurilia should never, ever play shortstop.

I am a little surprised myself that Phillips is not at SS and Aurillia at 2B. The only thing I can think of is that Phillips' ankle may still be bothering him too much to play SS.

KronoRed
05-24-2006, 03:48 PM
Worst lineup of the year, took till almost June though, so that's an improvement ;)

Phillips should be at SS, Aurilia at 2nd, Ross should be way lower in the order, I'd bat the hat leadoff, Kearns cleanup.

Wow, that is kind of strange.

So Dunn gets the night off, probably could use the break. The only thing that really surprises me about that lineup is the fact that Freel isn't getting the start in left. I wonder if his hamstring is still bothering him or if Narron just wants to give Ross a start to get a look at him?

Or maybe JN does not want to give Felipe the impression they are trying BP out at SS to deal him later. Politics have no place in baseball! :thumbdown

Maybe RA gets points on the big manager board and if he accumulates enough points he can turn them in for a shot at SS one day. Call them "Frequent SS Points". RA gets points for having a good attitude, doing the little things, keeping his locker clean, and saying nice things about the team in the paper or on TV.

He's cashing his chips in now.

Lopez vs. Davis 1 for 10

Bit of a small sample size to keep him out of the lineup on his bobblehead night, especially with the way he's been hitting the ball lately.

Personally, I think that's a really sh**** thing to do considering he's the honored player tonight.

Claussen was really in a tough spot on that play: no matter what, you want to advance a base on the play, and if he had gone off of the bag and the ball was caught, he doesn't advance and were stuck with 1st and 2nd with one out instead of 1st and 3rd/ 2nd and 3rd with one out

I hear ya. But if you're down three and the leadoff guy hits a solo job and then you go 1,2,3. You're still down 2. Rally to me is getting some leadoff guys on base and driving them in to tie or take the lead. At least 2 runs for a rally....solo shots aren't much for rallies in my opinion unless it's a one run ballgame of course.

I wouldn't mind it, but I don't think you should put 2 guys off the bench out there in the 7th with 2 more chances to bat after this.

No, there are plenty of reasons to hit for LaRue. For one, he is hitting .215.

It's obvious that we need to put the best lineup out there that's possible day in and day out to consistently win ballgames.

Lidge really losing it now. 15 pitches, 0 outs, 3 hits, 1 walk, 1 wild pitch and 3 runs. Yanked from the ballgame.

Glad to see the Stros will be losing a series to the Nationals. Everyone below us in the division is not playing any better than we are. The problem is the darn Cards that refuse to lose. Another week or two of similar results and the rest of us will be playing for the WC already, barring someone coming from behind like the Astros last season.

I think most of realized we don't look to have the horses to stay with STL but it'd be great to not have them win it by early June!

Q getting up this inning just proves that Narron didn't want to win this game from the start. What a joke, esp with the Cards winning this afternoon.

Sorry guys....couldn't post in the game thread tonight.

Narron benched me too. Claimed he needed to give me a day off, but it seems like a weird decision as we've got no game tomorrow.

Anyways...I'll be well-rested for Webb on Friday.
