What the heck is he thinking giving up nearly as many walks as hits?! :)

Yes, but he is clearly regressing -- 0 hits, then 1 hit, then 2 hits. What's wrong with his arm?

This kid is going to force his promotion to Sarasota sooner rather than later. I know it's only a handful of starts to far, but geez, what does he have left to prove in low A?

Anyone see this? From the BA Prospect Hot Sheet? He is currently "in the team photo". Click the link and you'll see what I mean.

Johnny Cueto, rhp, Reds (Low Class A Dayton): Cueto, 20, features a low 90s fastball, slider and changeup and has been very effective this season, particularly over his last three starts. The righthander, who signed out of the Dominican in 2004, tossed another seven shutout innings, whiffing seven in his last outing to bring his overall numbers to 5-1, 2.49 with a 59-6 strikeout-walk ratio in 47 innings.

BTW, I am very excited about this b/c Cincy NEVER has anyone on this thing. Ever.

Wasn't Wood on it last year?

Possibly, but I was overexaggerating. It seems like they never have anyone on it.

Cueto allowed six hits and three runs in six innings last night, walking one and striking out four. Dayton's bullpen would turn it into a blowout, but Johnny left with the score tied 3-3.
