As everyone knows, Johnny Cueto is just tearing it up. Even though Homer has been inconsistent, his stats are still looking pretty good. Travis Wood is doing well. Zach Ward looks like he's figuring it out. I was hoping for better things from Lecure and Chick though.

Pelland's K's have really dropped in AA.

Sam Lecure 2 6 4.44 10 10 0 0 0 50.2 46 31 25 5 4 13 50 1.16

I don't see TERRIBLE numbers from Lecure -- he's striking out just about a batter per inning, his walks are under control, and his hit and home run totals aren't abnormal or outrageous.

I haven't seen him pitch before -- but when I see peripherals like that and then an ERA of 4.44 it tells me something else is going on besides the pitcher not doing his job. Especially given that the Sarasota ballclub is, by all accounts, the worst defensive team the Reds are fielding in their farm system.

I was hoping for better things from Lecure and Chick though.

Chick has been adequate this year minus the one terrible start he had about two weeks ago where he allowed around five runs in the first inning.

Lecure has been a bit unlucky. Everything is his statline looks good except for the ERA. Decent hit rate, great bb/k rate, low WHIP, and solid HR rate. His ERA should drop as the season continues.
