If Kearns were hitting better I would tend to agree with you, but I hope that Kearns left all the bats with the holes in the sweet spot in Chicago...

I couldn't agree more redsfan... I actually like RA in the 4 hole against the lefty Wandy.... He has came up clutch more times than not this season and I think he's gonna have a great game! Quote me on that...

You have been quoted.;)

I hope you are right about that.

They are cold now, and I guess that neither Kearns or Encanacion should be right in the middle of the order. I still don't like Arillia batting cleanup, but I guess that's probably the best option. Besides, they should get some RBI opertunities hittin behind Dunn.

The MLB.com Fantasy411 Insider this week highlighted the fact that Austin Kearns has a .183 AVG at Houston

Couple that with him having a 1.021 OPS at Wrigley last year and the poor series he had there the past few days, and this could be a long weekend for him.

Why O Why can't he stick with the lineup that works?????

RA in the four slot again... I'll bet he's hit there more this season than anyone else on the team, especially the guy(s) that should hit there.

I was so angry when I saw that that I got a pain in my stomach. It's just mind boggling.

Coming into this series the REDS had scored 7 runs in their last 5 games at Minute Maid Park.

The game before those 5 games... the REDS won 9-0 and beat Roger Clemens. They managed 2 runs and 4 hits off Clemens in his 8 innings of work. The REDS had 6 hits and scored 7 times in the 9th inning (incl. a 3R HR by Freel). Harang was the winning pitcher (7 IP).

Take away the Clemens game and the REDS managed 14 runs in their other 8 games at Minute Maid Park last year... and a 1-8 record. Went 1-6 there in 2004.

A nice change in their 1st game there this year.

Don't forget Hammond.

Hammond got into a little trouble tonight, but you don't go from where he started the season to where he is without *some* ability to get out of trouble. With Arroyo and Harang almost being lights out, and with the bullpen starting to look better, I think they're into position to consistently win series. All they need are OK starts here and there by the rest of the rotation (and you have to think the offense will start to click again), and they'll start seeing 3-5 game winning streaks again. Gotta' start somewhere, or you'll end up nowhere.

Coffey has hit 96mph a few times this year, but is usually around 94-95mph.

I think the Cards are about out of relief pitchers. They are on their 8th in the game and Hancock is out in the 13th for his 3rd inning of work. I gave their roster a quick glance and I don't see another reliever that's available. They even had to resort to keeping Hancock in the game to bat in the bottom of the 12th with the bases loaded and only 1 out. LaRussa decided to chance it with Hancock and he struck out.
