There is always one more stop you have to make.

And why take the hubby? It's not like they are gonna ask (or take) our advice when it comes to home decorating and color schemes.

His stuff hasn't been as sharp as some of his great outings, thus a high pitch count. He has really battled, however, and has great results to show for that.

His 3 fer 3 at the plate breaks the 0-25 skid.. including 0-15 in may with 13strikeouts

Seems like Edwin and Felipe double-clutch on every throw. Which would be OK, if it meant they were setting up a good throw, but it doesn't.

The kid's going to make a bad throw every now and then. It's part of the package with having a 23-year-old in the lineup. Some of his game isn't fully polished yet.

What did Ross just do?

Berkman hit one off the plate that went 10 feet up in the air....Ross pounced out and barehanded it to tag Berkman, who was hoping it was foul.

I had partial season tickets right at first base in Potomac the year that EE played 3rd. I swore that he was aiming at me sometimes...the fans really had to pay attention since he was wont to throw it into the stands quite often. It's his feet...he never sets his feet before throwing. His arm is great but his footwork is blech!

The Astros announcers were just talking about EE's fielding. Too early to give up on him at 3B seemed to be there concensus.

I just hope he's getting some good coaching to polish his d. I saw a nice article about David Eckstein and Jose Oquendo, how Jose basically reworked Ecksteins throwing style to more of the "Dominican' way, and it greatly improved his velocity.

Have Felipe and Edwin grown up learning how to play the infield one way, and are now having to learn against their 'natural' style?

You'll eventually see the highlight ... caught the ball after a long run almost at the screen in the wall in left center ... and made a nice throw back, too, so no one advanced.

Pettitte has been atrocious this year, I think age has finally done him in last year being a over the top last gasp for the Vet. The Astros are sunk now, Clemens or no Clemens.

Unlike the Reds since the days of Davey Johnson, the Astros have shown almost superhuman resilience and a Braves-esque ability to squeeze diamonds out of geodes.

I'd recommend NOT counting the Astros out just yet.

Reds now 3 games back and Albert Pujols likely headed to the DL for the first time in his career. Now is the time to make hay if the Reds are going to keep this interesting for the rest of the year.

"He's going to miss a significant period of time," said manager Tony La Russa. "Anywhere from little significant to real significant. We can't tell for another 18-24 [hours]. But it's something we've got to deal with."

Neither Paletta nor La Russa was willing to venture a guess as to the time Pujols will be out, but it's extremely unlikely to be short.

"If you told me right now he'd be out two weeks, I'd buy you dinner the rest of the year," La Russa said in his postgame news conference.

Doesn't hurt...

One thing that bodes well for the Reds this season is that they are playing very well within the division (20-12). Cards are now below .500 vs. the Central (13-14). Oddly enough the Cubs are 14-10 within the Central (and fortunately 8-22 outside  )

At this stage, some of the key team splits look good for the Reds.
