I say it gets done tomorrow. Now, if it does, do they go cheap in the 1st round???

NO!

i wonder when i will be able to come here and read a thread without negativity. probably never ;) seriously, we have a different owner who has done absolutely ZERO to make fans believe they will go cheap or they lie about what they say

Agreed, but it is a legitimate question. Not b/c it is the Reds, but b/c they might have $2.5 mil penciled in for the 1st round and Loo's bonus has to come from somewhere. It would be a logical move, and they would have to decide if Loo is worth it.

BA has him rated in the 60s overall.

Reportedly the Reds offered him $200k last year, way above his round.

I imagine if they triple that, say about $600-700k, they could net him. That's about what the 50-60th pick has gotten the last two years.

Travis Wood, the Reds second round pick last year signed for $600,000. If Loo doesnt sign for $600,000 he might be a fool.

I hope the Reds make Loo a fair 2nd round offer -something in the $600,000 - $700,000 range. Our farm system is very thin on infield prospects (Janish and Bergolla are the best talents for those positions we possess) - so Loo could help immediately.

i agree, BUT, the new guys have repeatedly said they will spend the money in the drafts to get our team back to where it should be. so i dont see this being problem. also look at it this way.

they had 200k set aside for him last year

say they get him for 700k this year. so they spent 500k more than they had slotted. i dont think thats too much for them to be willng to spend/eat to get another 2nd round talent

The deadline was 48 hours after Loo's game ended last night. It would be some time shortly after Midnight Tuesday. I think we have about 25 hours left.
