Yeah, I think Cincy smells blood in the water with the potential sweep and Pujols going down.

I apologize, but even though I started the thread I will not be able to do PBP. I have to go put a bid in on a house.

Last REDS sweep (and only sweep)... Apr. 24-26 @ Nationals.

Last time REDS played HOU... won 1st two games, then lost 3-2 in game 3. Ramirez started (6IP, 6H, 3ER, 2HRA) and took the loss.

I am beginning to become a big fan of EZ. His stuff doesn't dazzle you, but he just has that "baseball smart" that some players lack. It's been a while since I've seen a pitcher come up through this organization that I like, but I really think EZ will be a solid pitcher. He is at least a better option than Dave Williams.

griffeyfreak4
06-04-2006, 04:08 PM
EZ is looking like a big leaguer right now. Berkman was battling and fouling off everything Lizard threw, but he kept going at him and finally got him, and he falls behind 3-0 against Ensberg and gets him. Those two guys aren't chop liver, they have preformed great over the past few years, and EZ is battling, and showing some great composure.

He excites me.

Narron doesn't strike me as a Dave Miley type personality, where everyone needs to be "like a brother". Having said that, I think Narron is a "my way or the highway" type manager, with an inability to recognize the things like what you mentioned. He's on a short leash, no matter where the team is sitting right now in the standings.

Man, how many here was calling for Hammond's release a month ago.....even a week ago? Here is another guy I love watching because he doesn't have anything that wows you, he just flat out knows how to pitch and to work with what he has. Managers are paid to make the decisions, but they can't swing the bat. Ed and Rich struck out, that isn't Narron's fault. He makes the best decisions on matchups to give his team the best oppurtunity to win. Goes the same for pitching. He is doing just that, and a fine job.

He battled pretty good. Tuff to make a decision on a 96mph fastball.

Yeah, I agree. Not meant to be overly critical of Rich. I think he was fooled, was expecting a fastball but got a splitter.

The Reds are 3 games out of first????

Were up several games .. I guess when you keep setting the bar lower and lower anything looks good.

Maybe Mercker can decide to play decently for a change.

It's a little hard to win games when like 5 of the 7 players in your bullpen have over a 5 ERA ... and then the 2 under that have been rocked their last outings.

Be my guest. Sorry I can't tolerate losing like this anymore. I'm sick of accepting losing. It's been since 1995.

Tie game on the verge of a sweep. Losing? 3 games outta first in June?

I knew we would blow this game ... way to go Weathers ... you old geriatric POS.

OK ... now we bring on Phillips .. after there is two outs ... what an idiot. Great thinking Narron.

Hatteburg has the speed of a Mac truck .... being towed .... by a dog .... with three legs.

Dunn is so crap .. ugh.

Does it really make a difference if BP is out there with 1 out or 2 outs. I don't think so. I'd rather have him out there w/2outs than none. That's my opinion.

It makes a huge difference. No need to pinch run for him with 2 outs. He's going to be running on contact anyway. If the situation dictates a pinch runner, you do it. To wait until 2 outs make you wonder if Narron even thought about it with one out or no outs. We thought about it. If Phillips could have stolen second, he would have scored on the base hit.
