With the Reds on a roll, who will have the majority of fans at this weekends series VS the Chicago Cubs?

Cubs struggling bad, Reds hopefully still streaking. I vote Reds.

i doubt we will see many fans. same as last time we came home from a trip in first or close to it, i believe we were in first. and the stadium was like 15k or 20k full

I'm hoping we see larger crowds than we did then. The last time it was the begining of the week and bad weather. I think, weather permitting, they will be 25,000 plus on Thursday and over 30,000 Fri-Sun.

we have a chance to be in first place more than a week into june, should be more than that for this "GREAT BASEBALL TOWN"

I hope so, I'm tired of the Cub fans coming in and listening to the "Let's go Cubbies" chants or when the 7th inning stretch comes and they say root for the Cubbies. This is the Reds opportunity to show the Cubs nation what kind of baseball town we have.

Unfortunately the Cubs struggling usually doesn't stop them from attending Cub games. I'm with you though, I think this is the series Reds fans outnumber the Cub fans though.

We'll get more. Our fans *normally* show up when we are winning.

if we can't get more fans to show up now with the team around first how can we expect ownership to pony up more money come the trade deadline? its a must that we have a great turnout this next home stand.

I know I'll be there and I'm bringing my family. that's all I can control. Hopefully the people who are Cubs fans because it's fashionable will go away.

I didn't know that Cub fans ever out numbered Red fans at GAB?

When did this happen?

Let'em sing... gotta be the blues considering the shape their team is currently in. ;)

I will be there! From what I have seen and heard, there have been long lines at the ticket office all week with fans getting tix for this series.

I have been to a few games over the past three years and the Cubs fans have definitely been more vocal and I believe at times they have out numbered Reds fans. For many Cub fans in the midwest, this is the only time they can get a ticket and watch their team. Especially this year with the Cardinals selling out every game.

I think they are just the vocal minority. I've been there, and seen a lot of Cubs fans in the stands, but it's still 5-3 Reds fans. They just like to talk trash and yell a lot. The Cincinnati crowds are more reserved. Hopefully those cheerleaders will fix that. :)

There are still good tix available for Thursday night on the website this morning. I haven't checked for Fri, Sat, Sun yet because I'm already set for those. But I actually had to purchase tix for tomorrow. *shudders*

If they don't draw 90,000+ for this weekend series, they never will.

4 game series... it better be closer to 125,000

I'd think the Reds will draw very well this weekend.

School is out, graduations are over, the weather is looking good, and the Reds are on a hot streak. Besides the core Reds fans that always show up, the garden variety Reds fan is a bandwagon jumper. And the wagon is a rollin' right now.

125K fans isn't out of the question. I wouldn't be surprised to see a near-sellout or two.

I'm guessing they have a large walk-up tomorrow night due to recent success, plus the favorable pitching match-up. Friday should be a large crowd, it is a fireworks night, and it was one of the ticket pack games.

As for comparing this to the last time they came off of a road trip close to leaing/leading the division, I totally think it is a different situation. That one was the beginning of the week and bad weather as stated above. plus school was still in session and it was againt the Brewers.

I look for big attendance numbers.

I might make it tomorrow night, will definitely make it Saturday night, and will only miss Friday because it is our fifth wedding anniversary and I would like to stay together for more anniversaries. (even turned down a free ticket)

I believe that on the last weekend homestand they had crowds in the 30+ range so yeah, they should do very well this weekend at the gates.

The Reds fans will outnumber the Cubs fans and they may even be quieter and that's fine by me. The only reason the Cubs are so noticeable is because they scream so loudly and inappropriately. And the reason they do this is to make themselves appear to take up a lot of space, because in every other way they are small, small people.

Danny Graves should pitch for the Cubs then.

Cubs fans should be banned from the entire region. Chicago fans in general are the worst behaving fans I have ever witnessed.

For baseball, yes. You're forgetting Steelers fans.

I don't follow American football so I can't comment on the Steelers.

I just joined this board a few days ago. I don't pay attention to the age of the posts. If I see something I feel compelled to comment on, so be it! If the thread is dead and buried, it should not be present on the board when new users sign up.

I see now how old the thread is however, <egg on my face!>

I've seen the Cubs plenty of times at GABP. The worst was in September of 2007, the last series of the season. They were headed to the playoffs and we had sent Griffey, Dunn and the rest of our starters home for the year and let the Triple A bunch play. I could recall seeing only a handful of Reds fans that game.
