I hope we don't have to hear about how all the Cubs' fans hurt their feelings if they lose today.

I'd take the presence of all those Cubs' fans as a reason to humiliate their team on the field. Nothing like sending home a bunch of grouchy Cubs' fans.

When I was Wrigley, I was surrounded by Cubs fans. These were actually cool people. Didn't give our group any crap for being Reds fans, didn't act like idiots when we were standing and clapping waiting for the final out of a Reds victory (a little fun heckling, but nothing more than that..fun!). I enjoyed them, and they treated us all with respect in and around the ballpark, and in the bars even though we had Reds garb on.

Now, these birdbrains that invade GABP....well....

Joseph

No LaRue today? A day game after a night game usually sees a different catcher. I bet JN got an earful from the Texan. You can't break a slump from the bench after all.

As a Chicago Reds fans the only way I can see the Reds more then once a year is by going to Reds games at Wrigley and Miller Park. Sometimes there are no other options.

I am also going to 2 games @ Houston later this year when I am on vacation.

Harang was the last time I've even seen him so much as sitting on the bench.

I don't like it either. Sure ride Ross while he's hot, but putting all the eggs in one basket is going to leave us hurting when Ross finally trips and crushes them all.

When Ross comes back to hurt then you play LaRue. This was the plan with Phillips (when he came back to hurt play Freel), but the good thing is BP never came back to earth.

Maybe Ross will do the same.

You're missing my point, guys. If you listen to the Cubs "fans" in Great American Ball Park as I have many, many times...you know they have no clue about anything regarding the team.

On Opening Day, there was a Cubs "fan" behind me who literally got into an arguement with a Reds fan because the Cubs "fan" was hellbent on the fact that Sammy Sosa was still a Cub, he just didn't play much. The Reds fan told him that he was traded to Baltimore and the Cubs "fan" told him in no uncertain terms that he had no clue what he was talking about.

I don't have a problem at all if a fan of another team comes and watches thier team play in Great American Ball Park. I do, however, have problems with Cubs "fans" who have no clue about anything regarding baseball filling ours and others parks.

Don't believe me....go sit in the stands for a Reds/Cubs game and come back and try to say that they are true fans.

Thank you for clearly stating what you meant. While I do agree that the Cubs seem to attract more of the type of fan that you describe above, they also have alot of knowledgeable fans as well. I don't think you can make a blanket statement about all Cubs fans.

Futhermore, I understand the frustration that these fans can bring if you invest yourself in them, but I couldn't care less because I don't.

Pierre grounds to short. They try to get the fielder's choice at 2nd and the runner beats the throw. 1st and 2nd.

Dammit. My computer is behind. Typed the praise of Milton as he was walking Cedeno, and now that nut-kick from Perez of all people. Good lord. That sucks.

It occurs to me, next time everyone wonders why the Reds are not packing them in at GABP, that we all might reflect on the stinkos they have registered in front of large crowds this year, including the last three of this series...

I said the same thing last night....EVERYTIME we have a big crowd, we lose. The Reds need to leave those people with a positive feeling...so they return.

Yep. The real Milton comes home to roost.

God forbid his offense help him out.

He didn't throw a stinker today, he didn't throw a gem....he's pitched well enough to give the Reds a chance to win, but their bats have been stone cold.

He had a hard time getting it out of his glove. Seems to be a general problem with Lopez.

Yep. The real Milton comes home to roost.

Even the good Milton fades in the later innings. Reds brass doesn't seem to appreciate this.

I've gotta say, I like these Cubs TV announcers a lot better than I like Pat Hughes (I'm a big Santo fan, but he's home sick right now). They're obviously rooting for the Cubs, but they're pretty even-handed. Said the Reds will be more dangerous the second half because they're bound to trade for some help -- which is something that seems obvious on the rare occasions when people actually say it.

I'm much fonder of them than I am of the Reds' lineup at this moment.

The Reds have a real good chance of flying past the Cardinals and they are blowing it.

Yep. A walker, not a contact hitter.

IMO Hatteberg does a great job of working the count to get his pitch. He just can't do anything with it. Of course the flipside could be pitchers know this and instead of walk him they just dare him to hit it.

Whatever the reason I have lost count of how many times this year I've jumped up thinking Hatteberg just killed a ball and it doesn't even make the warning track.

Walker grounds out to 1st. 4-1 Cubs mid 7th.
