I know Dunn "gets on base". He does need to learn how to hit, though. Not just slug. Strikes out on a ball in the dirt.

In better news, Hatteberg doubles to left-center and Aurilia scores. 2-1 Reds. Completely different Reds team we're seeing today, but this ain't Garcia on the mound.

The White Sox TV announcers (Hawk Harrelson and Darrison Jackson) are seeing Great American for the first time and were highly complimentary of the part, and the views from up high.

I do agree with this point. I prefer to sit closer to the field, but when you're up high, you've got nice views of the game and the river.

Milton is pitching well now and was probably the reason the DanO was fired. I'm really starting to like him.

He's consistently hitting the catchers mitt dead on. He's still going to give up a lot of homers, even when he hits his stuff, because his stuff isn't all that special. (I happen to think he telegraphs his breaking and off-speed pitches). But it's nice to see him at least not beat himself.

(Note: He just walked the pitcher after I said this)

I agree. I was up there last weekend and it reminds of some of the views up high at PacBell (or whatever its name is now). Really fun ballpark (GABP) that is underrated in my opinion.

I posted about that, too. Makes no sense. Freel is a utility player for a reason, but I don't feel he should been anywhere in the infield. Guess they didn't have a choice but to put him there (with Aurilia out with an injury).

Lopez gets down 0-2, works it back to 3-2 and then fouls off a couple before grounding one that the second baseman makes a diving stop on and barely gets the out at first. 8-6 & 2 out

This team is cooked. Junior wiffs on a ball in the dirt. Contenders contend with winning teams, and beat the cellar dwellars. My beloved Reds do the exact opposite. :thumbdown

2 game lead for the Reds in the wildcard standings in a season where they were expected to do nothing...keep things in perspective doom-sayers...

There you go, the Reds have successfully convinced fans that they're not supposed to contend this year. Or next year. Or the next one. And, so on. :beerme:

Wins aren't the only numbers, Tornon. Just like BAVG isn't the only one. Doesn't matter where the Reds are in the standings, they're not going to the playoffs this year. I'll eat a piece of my shoe if I'm wrong. Just say'in.

Felipe was BARELY out at first. I have to wonder if he would have been safe if he hadn't attempted the dumbest move in baseball, sliding into first base. Time and again it has been proven that not only is it risking shoulder injury, but it is slower than overrunning the base as the runner loses the added momentum of that last step, which is instead spent mid-air.
