I could have done without Castro in the lineup but he hits pretty well against Garland. We need a win.

flynn78
06-18-2006, 01:15 PM
Grande interviewing Castro on pregame. Pulled out the old "manos de oros" (hands of gold) on Castro, not once but twice. Sometimes watching the Reds broadcast is like watcking slapstick comedy.

They were talking about the old Elvis shrine they had in the booth and the Cincinnati Bell trivia question was about Mr. T. Needless to say they got going on it and had me cracking up. Joe doing the PBP this inning.

Top of the 3rd
Uribe flies to LF 1 down
Makowiak singles to LF

Thanks Flynn78 sounds like they are having fun.

Marty is much more loose with Joe than Steve (to be expected). He isn't as bitter when Joe is in the booth like he gets when Steve is there. Marty has his moments with Steve, but it is all classic with Joe. That is why I miss them together so much. Nothing more soothing to these ears.

Grande and Welsh are giving me a migraine.

Here we go again. Runners on the corners, 0 outs for the White Sox. BP elects not to throw. If we can't win with Harang, I'm not feeling too good about the rest of the season. Hopefully not too much damage is done.

saboforthird
06-18-2006, 02:37 PM
That was a close one. 0-0 after 5 innings. Harang working his magic. We need runs.

Cintron singles to left, 1-0 White Sox.

Speak of the devil! Larue just made a heck of a diving catch behind the plate to catch a squeeze attempt bunt, then tag out the runner coming in from third. Wow. :D

flynn78
06-18-2006, 02:54 PM

Harang still has movement on the pitches, they're just hanging in the zone now. He might be gassed.

Both Harang and Lopez screw up on a White Sox bunt attempt. Harang pauses too long and fires one to 2B on the wrong side of the bag, while Lopez doesn't come toward the runner to tag him. Somebody needs to be fired.

Why is it when the REDS play on the road they play to WIN, but at home they play NOT TO LOOSE???? so ridiculous..

Narron looks like he is frustrated about this teams lack of motivation at home in front of the hometown fans.. he looked like walking to the mound, "dang now i have togo to the bullpen!!!"

flynn78
06-18-2006, 03:09 PM
Narron finally decides that Harang is gassed well after we all knew. It feels so frustrating to see him make these moves. I am afraid of the bullpen too, but at least make the right move.

Reds goal for innings 7-9:

Try and eliminate Reds fans from exiting the stadium before the final out.

jimbo

This is just embarassing. Nothing like our relievers giving up a home run to an American League pitcher in our home park and hearing nothing but cheers coming from the crowd. If this team is out of contention come the trading deadline, I think a major overhaul is in order. The mental mistakes and inept pathetic bullpen is so bad it is becoming difficult to watch, and I'm a diehard Reds fan.

here the players gripe the fans dont come out.. the fans are coming out and they cant win!!.. the front office better shake things up or fans will stay away..come this summer.. i was hoping the way the season started off and the ofense was rolling, we would be legit contenders.. this homestand has shown me they can only win on the road and you have to win at home to contend!!

redsfan4445
06-18-2006, 03:56 PM
we ned a Lou Pinella that will knock som heads in this dugout of this team.. i dont think he would like it everytime a shift is put on and dunn and JR hit right into it without even trying to hit a outside pitch down the empty 3rd baseline.. i think he would get on them about it.. plus this bullpen is a joke.. i knew when they recalled Burns he is a waste.. he proved that today.. Coffey looks tired.. to mnany games early on pitching almost everyday.. front office has to do something.. thi is teribl.. this team has never had a .200 winning percentage on a homestand since 1950!! and we did that this homestand.. they have to do something.. all i see is a falling down in the standings if this keep up!!

saboforthird
06-18-2006, 04:04 PM
To contend, you have to win both on the road and at home. I find it odd that the Reds can get up for away games, but at home seem to not give a hoot. Is there something going on between the Reds organization and its "fans"?

What's up with the "9th inning rally" the Reds try to do on a regular basis? If you're going to stink it up for 8 innings, at least be consistent.
