I've never thought I would see the day to be happy that we are playing on the road.

We have won 7 in a row away from GABP, and lets keep it going!

Matt700wlw
06-19-2006, 06:55 PM
This team has been better on the road. Jerry said last night he thinks at home they get to "home run conscious"

Well...they need to stop doing that and play the way they have on the road ALL the time.

If they can somehow take it to the Mets, and the White Sox can do what they've been doing, and do it against the Cardinals.....the Reds are right back in this thing.

Maybe I have to much hope.... :dunno:

Sounds like Coffey is no longer the closer. Narron made it sound like it will be closer by commitee once again.

Can't say I argue with it.

Can't say I argue with it.

Although he's probably the ideal setup guy....I still don't trust anybody in a save situation more than Coffey...

We all know Weathers can do in that role :help:

Doc. Scott
06-19-2006, 07:04 PM
Coffey, as the Reds' best reliever, should be used in the situations of highest leverage, whether they're in the seventh, eighth, or ninth. So "demoting" him from "closer" doesn't necessarily reduce the number of high-leverage situations he participates in (assuming said situations are distributed equally over each inning). He just doesn't get as many saves, entrance themes, or flaming bags of poo on his doorstep when he has games like last Saturday.

The game threads in Reds Live lately have been very nice simple play-by-play. Maybe we should merge them again?

I forgot that my mom would have the chance to watch the Mets on TV tonight in Ohio. She's probably beside herself; she's absolutely nuts over David Wright. She has not loved a player this much since George Foster. But i hope he doesn't give her anything to cheer about.
