Abe Woody was drafted out of Baylor in the 31st Round of the Amateur Draft, he relies more on his breaking pitches than his fastball, throwing an excellent slider, and a sinker, which will bode well for his future in our small park. Woody was the closer for Baylor.
Abe woody has been a bright spot for the Sarasota Reds this Season as his numbers so far:
(4-2) 5 Saves 2.90 ERA, 35K's, 21 Walks, a 1.54 WHIP in 40.1 IP over 26 games.
In his most Recent outing, Woody looked spectacular, on WED June 21, Woody came in in the 7th inning pitching 3 strong innings of 1 hit ball. He struck out 1 and surrendered only 1 walk, which was intentional, he recieved the win for his strong showing over Clearwater. The best stat of all, he had a 6-1 ground-flyout ratio.
