Like it. But the back-to-back DHings of Griffey bothers me a little. If CF isn't a problem for him or his legs, then why the 2 games in a row at DH? I would have preferred seeing Dunn be DHed today.

I agree. Just comparing this situation to the whole LF/1B/CF commotion of a few weeks ago.

In addition to resting Junior's legs I think the value of Freel's range in CF outweighs the negative value of Dunn's defense in LF.

The Reds led off the broadcast with a graphic bemoning the five straight games without a HR.

More or less it pointed to that being a problem.

So Griffey hits a HR (how MANY of HIS RBI's are not from HR's?) and Chris goes on about how the Reds get most of their runs from HR's.... he seemed bummed.

So what is it? Should I the viewer worry about the lack of HR's or the fact that the Reds get their runs on HR's?

The Reds led off the broadcast with a graphic bemoning the five straight games without a HR.

More or less it pointed to that being a problem.

So Griffey hits a HR (how MANY of HIS RBI's are not from HR's?) and Chris goes on about how the Reds get most of their runs from HR's.... he seemed bummed.

So what is it? Should I the viewer worry about the lack of HR's or the fact that the Reds get their runs on HR's.

As 44% of the Reds runs are scored via the HR, I'd say yeah, ya gotta be a little worried when they're not hitting them.

I dont think so. I think maturity had a lot to do with it as well. Soto helped some, but Ramirez also grew up a lot from last year. When he would get in trouble last year, he didnt have a clue how to get out of it. Of course, he was 22 years old. He came into this year with some experience, some more knowledge and with the help of Soto, a little bit better stuff.
