I think the Reds win this one, 4-2. Harang gives up one run in 7.1 innings.

If the Reds lose, I hope RA makes the final out and leaves Dunn on deck. ;)

Nah. New arrival Gathright smacks a three-run dong off Harang in the 7th, sealing the deal.

Harang should dominate that Royals lineup.

Meanwhile Narron's addiction to Aurilia in the cleanup spot continues. Someone needs to hold an intervention.

At Kaufmann I'd agree.

This team is clinical at home. They build Rube Goldberg contraptions to assist in their losing.

Elarton has been the AL's worst starter this season IMO, and Harang has been one of the best in the NL. This is likely our best match-up of the season.

It sure is loseable, but I like our chances.

I guess it's how one looks at it.... is the glass half full or half empty?

We're only 1.5 games out; but we haven't been able to take advantage of the Card's misfortune.... and we should do so seeing who we are playing this week (KC, and the ATL).

The Reds gained 4 games on the Cards in the last week or so.

Don't confuse the 2005 Carpenter with the 2006 version. He's good but not super good. He's pitched less well than Harang and Arroyo this year. His K's are down, his walks are up and his HR's are up. His Dips ERA is 3.65.

We apparently only have 3 relief pitchers...Hammond, Weathers, and Coffey. The rest of them mostly sit (which isn't such a bad idea with some of them). Beslile will probably get callouses sitting there as long as he has those "veterans."
