I know many here have be critical of Marty's home run calls this year for whatever reason.... But..

Tonight 6/30/06. I don't know that I have heard a better HR call in my 27 years thus far. Excellent call. That was pure and true emotion. He felt the exact same why I as well as, any other Reds fan did tonight!!

"And this one Belongs to the Reds!!!!!"

IMO, if the Reds go on to do anything as far as postseason this year. THIS will be the call of the year. Just heard it again on WLW postgame. :)

Way to go Kitty....24 games....I wish I could go to just one.

I am watching the 809 innings of the Cards game and the Cards announcers made a bit of a point about Houston losing....but just mentioned the Reds score in passing as they did the scoreboard......these homers didn't seem to realize that 1st place is on the line for the Cards.....score is 5-5 in the top of the 9th.

We started to leave after they gave up the 8th run in the 8th, but stuck around and watched the bottom of the 9th from the concourse.

I learned my lesson after leaving a Centerville-Elder football playoff game a few years ago with Centerville down two touchdowns with 2 minutes to go.

I listened to the call on the post game show and you had to read between the lines on Marty's call. He called it unbelievable and impossible, IIRC. That meant that Marty believed that Dunn couldn't come through in that situation. And the reason why he was yelling like that was cause he was mad that it had to be Dunn who hit it.

Just kidding. ;) It was a great call. That's a good thing about Marty. He doesn't have a pet home run call like the SportsCenter guys and some other announcers (good and bad) had/have. You really can't pin him down as far as a certain style goes. As easy as it is for people to imitate Harry Carey and Vin Scully, it would be difficult to do that for Marty, even in the tri state area.

Mrty himself said last night that this is an exciting team to watch. I just wish he would act like it more often than not.

I have no gripes against Marty. He has his opinions, so what? You don't have to agree with everything he says, he is a great announcer either way.
