If Jake Robbins was released for Burns, why does he still show up on the Bats roster? They've updated it to add Burns and remove Shackelford, so it makes sense they would remove him too. This also means that they haven't promoted anyone from AA to replace Shackelford. Guess they have no one ready and are going to an 11-man staff. But Robbins on there makes 12. Is there any reason why they'd be holding Robbins' slot open for him?

Robbins was today signed to a minor league contract by the Reds and added back to the Bats roster.

His pitching for the Bats today, so he was probably given Shackelfords spot on the roster when he was called up.

I am glad to see that Robbins was resigned by the Reds to a minor league deal. This adds more depth to the farm system.

Yes, I see he pitched for the Bats and lost the game in extra innings. Of course, not having a job and unknown future for 5 days could mess with anyone's head. He should be back to normal and a less than 3 ERA in no time. He's pitching better this season than last year, when he had 23 saves. Welcome back, Jake.

Robbins must have changed his mind about exercising his "July 1st" clause when he saw that on paper, the Reds were his best shot to make the bigs.
