I agree -- Kearns is a mirage that will earn more money than he's worth next year. Move him for talent and use the money he would've commanded to upgrade the bullpen in the offseason. Even if Denorfia isn't the answer.

IMO, I think Deno can produce the same as Kearns without the potential for power numbers.

The Reds have been setting up that pitch all career for Bill Hall. Their plan apparently was to make Hall so confident he can hit anything thrown by a Reds pitcher (through repeated success) that he'll eventually just start swinging freely and make outs for himself.

Although his power numbers are down significantly, I can't help but be impressed with the patience that Felipe is showing at the plate. He walked a total of 57 times last season, and is already at 46 BBs for this season alone. That's an increase from .088 BB/PA to .121 BB/PA.

Impressive, and good to see from a developing young hitter.
