don't know whether to be happy or upset? Reds are better off without him.

It will be a nice pick up in september for the pennant run.

Yeah I think that is a great pickup... for us. :)

Well, I don't like seeing the Cards get better. But, considering they were not very good to begin with, I don't know if this helps them a whole lot. Weaver gave up 35 homers pitching half his games in chavez revine last year. Whatcha think might happen in that new band box St. Louis opened up this year? I'm guessing he gets pummeled.

Who in our bullpen is better than Jeff Weaver?

This probably means an end to the Ponson experiment in St. Louis.

I'm really not sure this helps STL much, but at this point, there's still not a whole heck of a lot in the marketplace. I'd have to take Weaver over Mays though, would have been an upgrade, though arguably not much of one. Hopefully the Reds start shopping soon or Claussen comes back and remembers how to get people out.

Anything will help the Cards pitching right now. Anything!

If there's a pitcher in baseball who is done, it is Jeff Weaver. The only other possible reason he could be pitching this badly is injury. And I haven't heard anything on that front.

They were better off with Ponson. Trust me, I'm watching the game.

Stick a fork in him. He's burnt to a crisp.

Sad...he used to have electric stuff...now it looks like someone pulled the plug.

This is a quote earlier from Dayn Perry of Fox:

"The self-immolating trade by the Reds all but locks up the division for St. Louis. They've played the weakest schedule in the game to date, but they've likely upgraded the rotation by swapping out Sidney Ponson for Jeff Weaver."

I like the Reds chances of the trade they just made working out, a lot more than I like the chances of Jeff Weaver working out.
