Well here's another trade idea, it does work for both teams so lets dissect it and make it happen:

Reds Trade-Jason Larue and Chris Denorfia and cash

Rockies Trade-Ramon Ramirez and Cory Sullivan

Larue becomes the Rockies everyday catcher and will benefit from Coors field and we are paying@700K of his salary, while Denorfia becomes their CF and will improve their defense and be comparable to a Steve Finley type.

The Reds get a young guy to plug into their bullpen and it allows them to demote someone, and in Sullivan they get Wise's replacement or just an extra bat off the bench with the subtraction of the 3rd catcher.

The trade benefits both teams, it helps us by loosening up the Catcher logjam and we get a young arm out of the pen, and we still pay some of Larues salary. Denorfia is blocked in Cincy both at the big league level, and the minor level with BRuce, Dunn,Kearns and Griff. We should deal him now and get a solid arm for him.

You know, I'm thinking Colorado must not be interested in Larue. A trade with them makes sense, but we never even hear a rumor for any writers, websites, etc. I know here at Redszone a lot of posters have expressed interest in a Colorado deal for Larue.

I don't think Ramirez will be going anywhere, especially if LaRue is still struggling. RamRam has been great in relief.

The Rockies have Chris Ianetta coming in a hurry. Used to be the knock on him was that he was a good backstop who couldn't hit, but he's been killing the ball this season and was recently promoted to AAA...where he has resumed raking.

With Torrealba & Closser about to be passed by Ianetta, they don't really have any need for LaRue.

In fact, the team that may need Larue's services more than the Rockies or many other clubs is the one he currently plays for.

Ross will do one of two things, IMO: get hurt (check) and see his numbers drop (check). Or he'll do both.

I'd keep Larue around.
