I'm gonna be sick. Castro over Felipe, and Edwin sits. Why?

KronoRed

EE is too valuble to play everyday ;)

Joseph
07-07-2006, 05:55 PM
Well it's clear Castro and Aurilia needed to be back in the lineup, and EE had played one whole game since coming off the DL and surely needed a rest. </sarcasm>

Narron, give Bob Boone back the dice with players names on them that you use to construct these lineups.

We have ourselves a platoon at SS and 3B.

The O is to blame for not scoring 20 runs a game

reds44
07-07-2006, 05:58 PM
I don't know if this is why he is sitting (and I doubt it is), but Edwin could use a day off. If you include his AAA stint, he has played 15 games in like 14 days.

Not to mention Hatteberg gets to sit down after a 3 hit night.

Hatteberg mainly plays when a right hander is pitching.

dsmith421
07-07-2006, 06:06 PM
Given the number of offensive weapons the Reds have, it is almost impossible to come up with an eight-man lineup that is below-average. Yet Narron does it night after night. This team has enough trouble without being actively undermined from within.

Well, Lopez isn't hitting, and hasn't hit LH pitching all season.

Freel has hit LH very well.EE is OK vs. LH pitching.

What I can't understand is why you wouldn't slide Phillips to SS, put Freel at 2nd, leave EE at third, with Aurilia (who murders LH pitching) at first.

Castro playing has to be because Narron doesn't want to mess up Phillips by moving him to SS. That leaves either Aurilia at SS (Nuff said) or...Castro.

Maybe Narron is as annoyed about EE's bad throw last night as I am.

Actually probably just an effort to get both Freel and Aurilia in against lefty. I'm sure EE will be back tomorrow.

Why worry about the 25th man everyone says. Castro is just a late inning defensive replacement everyone says. This is 5 starts in 8 games. Thats way too much.

And for those of you on the Lopez hasn't hit lefties all year, Castro is better defensively - - Milton is a fly ball pitcher so infield defense is less of a factor with him. And even with his struggles I'd rather have his bat in the lineup and batting near the bottom than Castro's bat 100 times out of 100 situations.

My happiest day as a Reds fan since February 10, 2000 was a year and a half ago when the Twins signed Castro and i thought I'd never have to see him in a Reds uniform again. Boy, was I wrong.

Krivsky doesn't manage the team, a man with crushes on veteran players (who aren't very good) does.

Krivsky could have brought him here to be a late inning defensive replacement, doesn't mean Narron will use him like that.

Just be sure to go cheap enough. I went last Sunday when Milton was pitching and had seats in LF. Problem was I should have gone upper deck and I would have had a chance at the Belliard ball. I think I under estimated Milton.

Juan Castro has had stretches in the past where he forgot that he was, in fact, Juan Castro. Those stretches never seem to last because he eventually does remember that he is, in fact, Juan Castro.

Juan Castro is a little like caprino cheese. A little goes a long way, and too much makes one regret it.

Story from last night>

Before the game Tommy Hume was giving a lesson in the OF during batting practice. Couldn't tell who he was talking to, but they were also shagging flies.

One of the pitchers caught a ball and then offered the ball to a couple of girls in the second deck. If they'd pull off their top.

Classy!

By the way, they were sitting not far from me. They looked about 16.

Double classy!

The segment was not based on simply a clutch hitter. It was who would you want up with 2 outs in the bottom of the 9th and you needed a HR. it was totally based of needing a HR only, not a walk, single, etc.

Still.
