It is really hard to defend Narron when it comes to lineups.

I mean....tell us EE is hurt....if he is.

I do not mind Griffey having a day off......but i would like to see starting against COL and for 90% of the time for the rest of the season.

SS Lopez
LF Dunn
CF Griffey
RF Kearns
1B Hatte
3B Encarnacion
2B Phillips
C Whoever floats the boat of the pitcher

You can switch Lopez and Phillips from time to time, if a LH starts let's say.

BUT please leave a perm lineup for longer than 2 days.

I'd actually term it 100% certain that he doesn't get traded, at this point. He's too young and too inexpensive to trade at this point.

My question, though, is what Edwin Encarnacion has done thus season to make him this "untouchable" player that absolutely needs to be playing for Cincinnati to win. Now, I don't disagree that's it would be beneficial to EDWIN's development for him to be playing everyday, but fact of the matter is that Hatteberg has been far more productive than him this year, and Aurillia has been just about as productive.

Playing for the future and beyond, yeah -- Go Edwin. Playing for today -- flip a coin.

What makes BP a better #3 hitter than Hatteberg. Is it his lesser OBA? Is it his lesser SL%?

Hatteberg's OPS is better than any Red outside of Dunn and Ross. It's .903, just below's Dunn's .912. And he's hot. How better to get on base for Dunn?

Yep.

Meanwhile Phillips has been colder than that popsicle stuck to the frosty back wall of the freezer so far this July: .624 OPS. He's been reduced to the BA-driven, low-slugging, singles machine that I thought he'd be when the league got the book on him.

After a month in AAA he can start playing for the Reds once a week to make sure its 100%.

nah, he's scrappy.

why are they stealing bases down 3 runs?:thumbdown
It's only the 6th. Try to get yourself in scoring position.

Don't know if this has been discussed already, but the Braves seem to be on top of everything the Reds are doing today.

For one of the few times I've been forced to listen to the guy, I actually agree w/ Chip Caray that Pat Corrales may know our signs.

I guess LaRue is holding up his glove waist high for no reason.

he's telling him to throw it high, as in letter or shoulder high.

i'm done arguing, you are just being silly.

one run at a time, best contact hitter was up, not a bad idea. It's just the 6th

If he wants im to throw it high then do what Ross does and stand up.
The target he shows is waist high and thats were Arroyo was throwing it.
Theres a reason why Arroyo has Ross catching for him and not LaRue.

But Im just being silly so please dont reply to this.

Griffey has NO plate discipline. That was possibily the worst swing I have ever seen. Seriously.

George Foster

wow no were close to the strike zone. Like he made up his mind to swing before the pitch

VR

2-1 pitch was in the dirt, swung at for strike 2
3-2 pitch was in the dirt badly, swung at for strike 3. I don't know what the deal is, but Griffey has never, ever been so impatient at the plate.
