I tell you, Stubbs has had a pretty slow start, but he seems to have some real polish as a defender and a baserunner, along with a pretty good ability to take a walk. Once he figures out the wood bat, and I believe that he will within the next year, I think he will be a really fast mover through the system.

Hopefully he learns quick, because his offensive numbers downright Juan Castro looking:

G AB R H 2B 3B HR RBI TB BB SO SB CS OBP SLG AVG
18 68 14 16 1 3 0 7 23 9 18 9 1 .361 .338 .235

On a completely unrelated note, after 18 games played, the GCL Reds squad has collected exactly ONE (1) HR.

The good thing is its real early. If Stubbs were to get hot for a week and go, 10-20 his average would jump up to .295 and then he would have more decent looking numbers. I am however very unimpressed at his current production. I hated the pick before it happened and I still dont like it at all. However he is a Red now, and I really hope he can reach at least some of that huge potential he supposedly has.
