It was moderately entertaining, especially when the BRM knocked off Tommy Lasorda's '55 Dodgers and he took it personally.

Note: No love for the '09 Pirates, '05 Giants, or '07 Cubs, the top 3 seeds in the NL bracket.

I thought the 1976 Reds were a better team than 1975 with 3 very good rookie pitchers of (Parden the spelling) Pat Zachery, Santo Alcula and Manny Sarmento.

Plus, this team was undefeated in the post season. (7-0)

1976: 102-60 Scored 857 runs, Allowed 633 runs. Pythagorean W-L: 103-59

Plus, this team was undefeated in the post season. (7-0) :) I agree, but the experts always take the 1975 Reds due to Johnny Bench, Will McEnaney and Tony Perez having better years and the glamour of the 1975 WS. They also won more games in 1975, but I'll take the 1976 Reds myself.

Doug Flynn contributed big in 1976 when Joe Morgan was injuried.

I watched 90% of the entire 3 hours show and loved it. They took it a step further. It wasnt your usual "Best Team of All-Time" tournement. Some might think it was corny but i liked it. They talked about how the '27 Yankees would have to play 3 games on astroturf.

Both the Yanks and Reds dominated their way through the brackets. They would usually win their games by a 75% for them and 25% for whoever the other team would be. The "World Series" was a lot closer than i thought it would be. There was over 1 million votes cast. I figured this was the way it would end but it gave me some baseball to watch on this boreing day.

Also they had a phone interview with Joe Morgan and he said he would take his team up against any team and he believes they would win but he said its also hard to vote against Ruth. He also said he liked the '76 team better but he thought they could win with the '75 team too.

Overall I loved it. I loved how they got into it rather than just comparing the two teams. And it gave me something baseball to watch other than the AAA game.

Well, lets face it -- does anyone who reads ESPN.com really take this seriously and investigate just how good any team from the turn of the century-era really is?

I was surprised that they (ESPN) gave those three teams the top 3 seeds, given their love for the ultra-modern. Heck, when I heard they were doing this, I expected the 2004 Red Sox to be on there and for them to win it.

I'm surprised they had two teams that existed before ESPN did. I can live with being runner up to the 27 Yankees. Most "experts" consider that team the best of all time.

It's been my experience over the years with these greatest team of all time tournaments that it almost always comes down to the '27 Yankees and the '75 Reds and the Yankess edge them out by a close margin.

I rememeber a few years back, can't remember the site though, they had those two teams in a 7 game series where the Yankees won game 7 on a homer by the Babe in the ninth.

I'm kind of proud that so many non-Reds fans acknowledged the '75 Reds as the best NL team.
