Yeah, I didn't really expect much out of the bottom three, so that was a bit surprising.

Milton's been amazingly solid in innings 1-5 this season.

It's starting with the 6th inning that you have to keep on ready standby the fire extenguishers to put out the flames.

Forget about having someone up for him by the 5th or 6th inning (which is as far as he ever goes anyways)......just DFA him.

Waste of time to only get barely 5-6 innings out of him anyways.

Another QS for Uncle Milty (9 out of 14)* and he again outpitching a pretty darned decent pitcher on the other side of the dugout (*assuming common sense prevails and he is pulled now).

Oh and he contributed on offense with an RBI.

Is he living up to his salary. Heck no. Is he keeping his team in the game virtually every start as viable #4 guy in a poor starting pitching world -- yes.

Given the Kearns trade, I think it is essential that EE's bat is in the lineup virtually every day.

This is almost like what they called the Yankees of the 50's and early 60's.... 5 o'clock lightning, or 3 o'clock thunder....or something like that.
They would be in close (day) games...then bam....score 3-4 to put it out of reach in the late innings. Doubt we can confuse Castro with McDougal or Bauer though.

As long as Castro can maybe share....the starting SS spot with Clayton, they can both shine here and there w/o being overexposed.
