So sad for them in a way, they're on a team with a lot of guys they came up with, out of nowhere the team is good, new ownership, a lot of buzz, a potentially good future...and they get shipped off to a terrible team that plays inside a small planet. With Jim Bowden.

You'd think we just traded for Goose Gossage and Dennis Eckersley. It's Gary Madjewski for God's sake, the guy gives up a zillion baserunners and doesn't strike anyone out. He's better than what we have, but it's one and a half guys (assuming the kid from AA can pitch in the bigs, which we do not know) and the rest of the pen is still the same collection of clowns.

What did Everyday Eddie do to show his emotion?
Slapped his glove, said some interesting words, hit LaRue in the head.

Yup, def a little cussin', and genuine happiness was exuded. Larue did get pounded on the noggin too. Really, it was nice to see from the closer.

Nice call by Joe on the Castro homer. I was in the shower the first time and didn't get to hear it then.

I love Joe's calls.

Straight from the heart. Nothing planned, nothing fake.....He sounded like he had a huge smile on his face

He'll come up with his own.

It'll be like Ron Burgandy and Vernoica Corningstone next game.

"AND THIS ONE BELONGS TO THE REDS"

"YES IT IS! CINCINNATI BRINGS ANOTHER ONE HOME"

"Right...BUT THIS ONE BELONGS TO THE REDS"

"Yes it does, and CINCINNATI BRINGS ANOTHER ONE HOME"

Does that make Steve a smelly pirate hooker? ;)

Good game, kind of outlined why that trade might have made sense. Our offense can score 9 runs, and our bullpen has huge holes. (Even though trade value wasn't balanced.)

Eddy is wearing number 81.

what the...

Eddie Guardado has always worn #18 throughout his career, both at Minnesota and Seattle. But obviously he can't wear that number in Cincinnati since it is retired (Ted Kluszewski). So he reversed it and decided to wear #81. Now that they are back home, the equipment manager had the opportunity to make up uniforms with the number Guardado wanted.
