Reds bullpen ERA from June to July has dropped from over 6 to a little over 3. The trade really has payed dividends.

Coffey with the big K on Burke, 1 out!

Is there like all righties up this inning. Thats the only thing I can think of.

Edit that: Huff is up.

howyoufreelin
07-25-2006, 11:46 PM
Coffey has not given up a run POST All-Star break. I like our infield defense to start the 9th. (Fingers crossed)

Yeah, because he was back in his natural set up role. I bet if you put him as closer again, he chokes. Maybe not this game, but he will. HE IS NOT A CLOSER. Eddie has done great for us this year, I don't understand this.

Though he is looking good right now, nice k. haha

Maybe Coffey's being showcased for the Ian Kinsler trade with Texas ;)

I think Coffey gets him here, K - 2 down

I'm calling it

07-25-2006, 11:48 PM
Huff pops up to Phillips, two outs!

kevinc12345
07-25-2006, 11:49 PM
Anyone see how high Huff threw his bat in a fit of frustration after that pop-up? :D

5TimeWSChamps
07-25-2006, 11:49 PM
Damn, Basehit Preston Wilson

kevinc12345
07-25-2006, 11:50 PM
Preston Wilson bloops a single to Left, COME ON COFFEY!

keeganbrick

Base hit now another leftie up. I hope this decision doesnt burn Narron.

07-25-2006, 11:50 PM
Weak single... why is Coffey still in there?

ThornWithin81
07-25-2006, 11:50 PM
Why.

Why isn't Eddie in this game.

wojo1025
07-25-2006, 11:50 PM
This is what I expected. Guess Narron slept through the times that Coffey tried to close

kevinc12345
07-25-2006, 11:50 PM
Scott singles up the middle.

Coffey should be pulled.

5TimeWSChamps
07-25-2006, 11:50 PM
Seriously Narron; What the hell are you thinking?

RedEye
07-25-2006, 11:51 PM
Eddie? Are you there?

5TimeWSChamps
07-25-2006, 11:51 PM
Now you go to the bullpen? Give me a break

This guy might be worse then Tony LaRussa

RedEye
07-25-2006, 11:51 PM
Oh no... Orlando Palmeiro. I have to watch that guy ground out EVERY TIME I log into MLB. How about another one of those for real this time, buddy?

wojo1025
07-25-2006, 11:51 PM
Now with the winning run at the plate you bring in the guy that gives up homers, don't bring him in with nobody on and up 2, bring him in when he can lose it with 1 pitch, nice job. How are we still leading the wild card with such a horrid manager?

kevinc12345
07-25-2006, 11:51 PM
My wish is granted.

KYRed

If he brings in a lefty Ensberg will come in and PH.

It's Bray, not Guardado, who replaces Coffey.

Here comes Bray

wojo1025
07-25-2006, 11:53 PM

goreds2
07-25-2006, 11:53 PM
 Now, I am scratching my scalp why Eddie is not coming in.

5TimeWSChamps
07-25-2006, 11:53 PM
What a terrible 9th inning. Harang threw 2 INNINGS HIS LAST OUTING AND WAS HITTING 93 ON THE RADAR GUN IN THE 8TH INNING.

Seriously, how terrible is Narron? That extension looks awful

howyoufreelin

Bray is sweet, but come on. Did Eddie offend Narron's wife or something? Seriously......Narron.

Good work Bray, although I am absolutely baffled as to why you don't use your CLOSER in a CLOSE situation.

Especially when he's flawless as a Red.

We win despite horrible managing. WHERE WAS EDDIE? He's been lightsout since coming to Cincy. We had an off day yesterday so he's rested. This inning makes absolutely no sense.

Anyone think Roger is glad he came back?

kevinc12345

Clemens drops to 2-4 with a 2.45 ERA. I feel bad for him; this is NOT what he came back for.

I don't know but we have come from the bottom 5 in the MAJOR leagues to maybe the top 5 in bullpens.

keeganbrick

So Narron sends Coffey out in the 9th inning to face 2 lefties during the inning. Narron needs major help deciding how to run the bullpen ASAP.

I think that's jumping the gun. We've been good since the break, but the moves we made don't launch us from horrible to great.

Just flipped to SportsCenter to see the Reds have the first highlight (I'm sure it has nothing to do with Clemens). Phillips getting some love!

Confusing as to why Eddie was not out there tonight but a win is a win is a win. Hopefully the bats will get going against Andy P tomorrow night I look forward to some more playoff atmosphere.

It's a moot point, but the positive thing I took from the 9th inning was the composure we saw from Bray. He shouldn't have been put in that situation, but he came in ready to go and I was just happy to see some command. Coffey always looks at batters like they used to steal his lunch money at school; completely intimidated.

Great win. I just hate watching games on FSN Houston. FSN Ohio was blacked out here so I had to watch on Houston and listen to those guys make fun of Dunn. They were calling him Will Ferrel and "Anchorman and Taladega Nights."

goreds2

Who ever wins this first game could set a tone for the series. This is big. It would be nice to get some space between us and Houston.

Man, this is fun!!

Great game from Harang and BP. Boo to Clayton for making Clemens' night easier. Now let's finally give Bronson some runs so he can get that flippin' 10th win already!
