Don't worry, everyone, Encarnacion's not in, so as to not disrupt the hot hitting of Richie Aurilia.

I'm sure someone else can tidy this up and make the lineups look neater later. I just wanted the name "Pornstache" on the top of the board for a while :D

Rich is hitting .154 lifetime against Clemens Edwin has only faced him once. Why not give Edwin a chance to prove himself against the best especially after coming off a homestand in which he hit over .500. I am starting to believe some of this conspiracy talk.

I wouldnt mind, but ill be in and out all night. Hopefully someone has nothing better to do

Hopefully the "Road" Harang shows up tonight. Clemens has allowed 2 runs or fewer in 5 of his 6 outings this season. The Astros still don't give him run support. They have scored 11 runs in his wins and 3 runs in his losses. Granted when Roger pitches, the other team's Ace is on the hill opposing him.

Cincy09 any pbp will help. I like your designated hitter signature as well.

ugh. Another lineup without EE. We're going to have to get serious about this "Free Edwin" thing. Anyone have the numbers that show how 3B was being handled before EE went on the DL? Seems like he started almost every night, with Aurilia and Hatteberg platooning at 1B, then amazingly, at the same time EE was injured, Aurilia became a better option at 3B. Absolutely maddening.

If this was Dallas instead of Houston, I'd be checking the grassy knoll. We'd probably find a second Third Baseman there.

Dunn VS. Clemens round 1

kevinc12345

Who cares though, Dunn pokes a single up the middle.

07-25-2006, 08:12 PM
In the ORG thread, they're talking about how Cody Ross is OPSing .850 and how it was a bad move by Krivsky to trade him. The thing is, he is OPSing just .714 since the trade. Sure, that's better than Q or Wise, but he put up those numbers primarily as a starter.

kevinc12345
07-25-2006, 08:12 PM
Griffey strikes out on a splitter bouncing off of the plate. Ugh.

Aurilia with an infield single.

1st and 3rd, 2 out.

07-25-2006, 08:14 PM

Clayton leads off with a double after a nice at-bat. Let's get some more boys!

fisch11
07-25-2006, 08:30 PM
Clemens thought he had Clayton K'd on a 1-2 pitch. Very close. Instead, Clayton takes the next pitch to the left field wall for a standup double.

kevinc12345
07-25-2006, 08:30 PM
LaRue flies out on the first pitch, 1 out.

I hope the Reds continue to make Clemens work and not start swinging at the first pitch.

Stupid play Clayton, just let Freel take 2nd and be happy.

fisch11
07-25-2006, 08:37 PM
Clemens was struggling to throw strikes. Fell behind to Dunn with 2 runners on. And Clayton is trying to steal 1 run?! That mistake was 50 ways costly.

redsfan4445

I feel like it's inexcusable that EE is not in the lineup every day. I don't care how hot Aurilia is; Encarnacion was our best hitter with RISP the first half of the year and needs the at-bats to get back to where he was before the injury. Unless we are going to package Aurilia, LaRue, and Milton together to get a sack of baseballs, EE needs to play.

I mean, we are being aggressive, Phillips will lead off the inning now. I'm not going to fault that, the odds of getting him around and scoring weren't great with him at first. If it kicks away an extra foot, he's safe and it's easier for Hatte to get home

*shrug* I don't watch other teams, and the Reds are always on FSN, so I guess I don't know what I'm missing.
I just get so tired of listening to George and Chris, that I turn my XM on and listen to the away announcers before George and Chris anymore. The Brewers and Dodgers series are my favorites on the road, cause I get to hear Uecker and Vin Scully call the games.

94 pitches I believe from Harang. Pushing the envelope on a CG. But that inning made it possible.

RedEye
07-25-2006, 10:09 PM
Harang is masterful so far tonight. BTW, is there some mechanical reason why he doesn't touch over 92 on his fastball? He's a big dude and you would think he could get more giddee-up on it. Is he giving away some MPH in order to have good location?

5TimeWSChamps
07-25-2006, 10:09 PM
I think that Harang's motion is so effortless, that it's very deceptive to the hitters. IT also allows him to throw more pitches because his delivery is so smooth and easy.

kevinc12345
07-25-2006, 10:10 PM
After 7 it's 2-0 Reds. Harang at 94 pitches and likely to go at least one more (a shot at the CG is very possible if he can get out of the 8th without much trouble).

Trever Miller in to pitch for the Astros against Dunn.

It seems like he could really put a few more MPH's on his fastball if he had to, so I'm guessing Harang does throw more smoothly for control/stamina reasons.
