Mediocre numbers, but we're looking for a serviceable #4 or #5, and he is that. He 1-hit the Red Sox over 7 innings his last outing--no small feat.

I could live with Redman, but he wouldn't be anyone's savior. 1.46 WHIP is merely OK, and the HRs scare me. Also, in his last outing he gave up 12 hits and 3 walks in 7 innings. Yikes.

I would go for that. Redmen is someone that you could get without giving up a lot. He has post-season experience as well, which may be overrated, but personally, I don't think so.

Also Redman would benefit from coming to the National league, ala Arroyo's hot start this year. Not having to face a DH every game and the lesser hitting National league could provide him and us with a huge spark. I say get this guy Wayne.

I like the idea. Who do you think we should give up?

Didn't Redman get knocked out in the second inning in the Bronx in the World Series a couple of years back? Not exactly the experience you'd normally be looking for.

I agree with the pro-Redman posters. He's pretty much the best option out there for us right now. Most of the other potential #4/#5 type starters are either scary bad or realistically unattainable.

I kind of wish that we had gotten Livan Hernandez in the Washington trade. Why couldn't we have had him instead of the worthless trio of Clayton/Harris/Thompson? An innings eater like that would really help this team a lot. I realize this is a pipe dream, but if other people can post threads about A-Rod and Peavy, I can at least add this to the back end of a thread, right?
