Well... No Ross again... I really want to see him play as much as possible, not 1 or 2 times per week... oh well... GO REDS!! AND GO EDWIN!

07-28-2006, 06:42 PM
I was kinda hoping Deno would play tonight to give Freel a rest after last night's game. Freel has been swinging good lately though. I'm sure he'll rest a game in this series though. Oh, and I'll be first to say.....EE's BACK!

ChaseReds
07-28-2006, 06:44 PM
Tomo Ohka pitched a gem on July 23rd against the Reds:

8.0 IP
3 Hits
1 Run
7 K's

Lets hope the reds can get him early before he starts to settle in.

By the way, has anybody gotten word on if the Brewers new guys are going to be in for tonight's game?

jesusfan

Wow... Look at that Murderer's row Brewers line-up...lol Without Weeks (Day to day) and Lee (Traded) Milton should (should) be able to pitch effectively tonight...

A win today and we're 3.5 back in the Central!

of course, we have no chance tonight, because a very bad man is in the lineup...

no, not Bill Hall. TONY GRAFFANINO!

Will Lee be playing with the Rangers tonight? I have him in my fantasy lineup.

The new players for each team will not be playing tonight. They might report (which is highly doubtful) but wouldn't play until at least tomorrow. I'm sure they have a bunch of things to take care of in the next 24 hours.

This is from the Brewers website Team Boone.
Mench and Francisco Cordero were expected at Miller Park on Friday night, when the team began a key three-game series against the Reds. Nix will head to Triple-A Nashville, and Julian Cordero is headed to Class A West Virginia.

So it might be possible for Lee to play for the Rangers tonight. I noticed he is on the Rangers 25 man roster already.

Nice Interview with Dunn! Did you hear him say that at the end about Ohka... Welsh was talking about how well he pitched last time out... Dunn replied... "It will be different tonight." I hope he's right! Go reds!

It's not just everyone's imagination. Here's how many times we play division opponents this season:

you have to wonder if something is wrong with Milton's arm. Based on the FSN gun, he topped out at 84 on his fastballs in the first inning. I remember hearing that scouts clocked him at 94 during spring training.

Nats acquire hurler Martis from Giants
07/28/2006 6:44 PM ET
By Bill Ladson / MLB.com

LOS ANGELES -- Left fielder Alfonso Soriano is still with the Nationals, but left-hander Mike Stanton is not after he was traded to the Giants for right-hander Shairon Martis on Friday evening.
It's the second trade made by general manager Jim Bowden before the deadline. It's also the second time Bowden has traded Stanton in less than a year. On Sept. 29, Stanton was traded to the Red Sox for Minor League pitchers Rhys Taylor and Yader Peralta. Stanton signed a free-agent contract with the Nationals on Christmas Eve.

Stanton played in 56 games this season and went 3-5 with a 4.47 ERA. He was the only reliever not involved in the bullpen shenanigans that cost bullpen coach John Wetteland his job. When the relievers were shooting firecrackers or breaking bobble head dolls, Stanton was in the dugout watching the game.

Martis, 19, was 6-4 with a 3.64 ERA in 15 starts for Class A Augusta. Martis allowed two runs or fewer in five of his final seven starts with Augusta, including a trio of start in which he worked at least five innings and did not allow a run.

On March 10, Martis fired the first no-hitter in World Baseball Classic history, leading the Netherlands to a 10-0 mercy-rule-shortened contest against Panama.

complete coverage >Martis has averaged 8.9 strikeouts per nine innings during his nearly three-year career, during which he is 12-8 with a 2.59 ERA in 40 career games (32 starts).

Dunn scores, 5 seconds after FSN tells us that Ohka was #1 in MLB with a .026 BA against with RISP (1 for 40 on the year). And really, a good throw would have had Dunn out at the plate, wasn't Ohka's fault really.

Makes me feel a little more solidarity with what we had been doing earlier in the game by not driving them in!
