I would think he's starting....

I imagine so as well, likely in CF with Griffey sitting. One would like to think that in an emergency (like Freel being hurt), Griffey would go ahead and play anyway, though thusfar this season EE's bat > Griffey's.

I doubt it would take much prep to get EE preped for a spot OF start.

No offense to the opposing pitcher, but throw those names in a hat and they should put up 7 runs either way. Just worried about BA on short rest. I guess JN is kind of conceding the loss to Smoltz tomorrow so he'd rather get the matchup today and if Lohse gives up 10 tomorrow, then it doesn't matter.

Well lets just put this in perspective.. Harang wanted to finish the game in Atlanta throwing 135 pitches.. Narron Left him in. Milton the same senerio against the Mets trying to go 7 innings.. he got his wish at gave up 7 in 7 innings.. now Arroyo wants the ball on 3 days rest? Miley was a players coach.. whats the difference in Miley compared to Narron?

Not a surprise that Edwin isn't playing. I don't think it has much to do with his error last night, I think he was going to sit no matter what.

Arroyo is going today, not because we are conceeding the game tomorrow, but so that Arroyo can go against he Cards Thursday. Only Lohse will miss pitching against the Cards.

And EE is sitting today because he always sits against RH starters.

Good point on BA, but what would be the difference if he went on 3 days rest today vs Thursday? The Braves are playing better than the Cards lately anyway.

And regarding EE, if that is Jerry's logic then it is extremely flawed. Why would you sit EE over RA against righties? If it really has to do with defense, then it shouldn't matter who EE faces on the hill. EE's stats dwarf RA's vs RHPs. It's been beaten to death, but for whatever reason some of JN's decisions have zero logic behind them.

Still in awe of the bunt attempt by RA. Someone needs to ask both he and JN that question after the game.

That's the one thing I do like about the NY media. They would grill the both of them until they got an answer no matter what the outcome of the game. They might even corner the Big Stein in an elevator until he ripped apart both JN and RA.

Wow. Aurilia is a TERRIBLE third baseman. And yes, I'm watching this one.

I mean, he looked like that toppling statue of Saddam in that play on Giles' creampuff line drive.

The guy has literally no range. I really do not understand the ballclub's fascination with playing statues in the field. It's great if the ball is hit right at them, I guess.
