He got pounded the previous game too IIRC. Chris and George had it on the "Down on the Farm" Report the other day.

Loss of arm strength for Brandon due to shoulder. After he lost a good deal of arm strength from TJ, he couldn't afford another injury, but alas.

Why don't they just put him on the 60 day DL and be done with it?

Claussen rehab 8/5/06
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Tonight against the Mudhens, Brandon Claussen pitched 5 and 2/3 innings, gave up 6 runs, 9 hits, 3 walks, and got 4 Ks. He threw 92 pitches and 61 strikes.
His overall ERA in Louisville is 8.34. Bats down 6-0 after 6 innings.
Maybe Lohse was a better choice to start tomorrow....we shall see.

I hope they put him on the 60 day DL or we will be seeing him up here doing the same thing.

For anyone that cares the Bats and Mud Hens are tied 6-6 in the 13th inning.
Steven Kelly pitched 6 innings out of the bullpen.
This is no small news. This basically ensures Lohse will be a starter for the balance fo the season.

That is scary considering we'll need all the wins we can get.

On a side note, what the heck happened to Chris Shelton? Was he injured or did he just stop producing after he tore up that first month or so?

shelton was a house of fire the first 2 weeks of the season. since then he has been a below average hitter. after the casey trade he was sent down to work on his swing. leyalnd still says selton is the first baseman but i know that most fans up here would like to see casey stay in detroit after this season. shelton was a rule 5 pickup so the tigers never lost a proven player.
